Just having some fun dont scold me on this

If you swap the engine to a S6 engine, upgrade your suspension to S6 specs, install S6 grills, paint the door blades black, get aluminum mirrors and avus S wheels can you badge your A6 4.2 Sedan to a S6?

My opinion, No. If it did not come from the factory as an S6 then it shouldn't be labeled as such. Seen this numerous times when I was in the BMW scene with everyone trying to pass off a 3 series as an M3. First thing I would do is look at the door tag and say "Nice 325". Not saying that the amount of work put into it was bad or anything, just be proud of what you have and the progress you have made on the car.

I dont believe in false badging. Unbadged is cool tho.

Add the instrument cluster, Alcantara headliner, door sills, 17 inch avus wheels, Recaro euro sport interior, and transmission and rear diff.. That should do it...

And still don't badge it as an S6.

Of course you can . . . but what are you going to say to a fellow Audi enthusiast (the only person who would notice or care) who asks you about your S6? Continue the lie? Gee, that should feel really good.
Hambone101 has the right idea. Then you can feel proud of what you did.

S6 replica would be a more appropriate term. Even the old school guys refer to 20V converted coupes as S2 replicas etc.

why would you swap into a s6 engine when you already have a 4.2? seems like a lot of work for a little gain.

badge it whatever you want

I was just asking guys. I am not a fan of fake badging. I was asking what you guys thought would be an appropriate amount of mods so that you are qualified tor re-badge. I de-badged my 4.2 and I just have a V8 from a S5 fender which I placed where the 4.2 would be in the trunk.
