So i'm in the Playa del Rey area, looking for a good detail. Doesn't have to be mind blowing, but i only do this once a year so I want quality. I was looking around yelp and searching these forums, just figured I'd throw the question out there.
For those unaware of the Playa area, it's right between Venice and LAX.
Thanks in advance

+1 for Lavaggio[up]
The Avant is getting her daily bath over there right now.
Kinda surprised I haven't run into your S4 there since I drop in there 6 days a week when I'm in town.
Lavaggio does nice paint correction as well. My E55 had some orange peel on the trunk similar to the photo in your thread. They did a great job of wet sanding it nice and glassy smooth.

thanks guys, as i'm reading various different price quote places, it occurs i don't even know what type of detail service i should be looking for.
history on my car. Last detail was around this time last year (maybe a little longer than a year). I wash it at least once a month, and i wax it myself about once every 2-3 months. So...what should i be looking for? I assumed a clay bar + machine/orbital wax, leather shampoo....anything else? Is this overkill?

Everything that you listed falls under the classification of a basic detail. You didn't mention any problem areas so it sounds like your car is in good overall condition and you just want to maintain that. It certainly is not overkill. I call it preventative maintenance for the appearance of a car.

thanks! yeah, definitely nothing wrong outside of a few small scratches here and there that unfortunately wouldn't come off with a basic wash & wax/buff, but nothing earth shattering. Definitely just thinking preventative--my buddy who owned a few S5's used to tell me to get it detailed once a year, so i'm trying to adhere to that

How long does an interior/exterior detail take at Lavaggio?

Are you a platinum member there? I used to go there at least once every 2 weeks, but then i'm expecting a baby then my priorities and my wallet quickly changed....

I have it washed almost every day there and it takes an hour.
Detail...
Depends on the condition of your car... I have only had 8-10 details done there and just drop the car off in the morning and they pick me up the following morning. On one occasion, I needed a car back by 5pm and they handled it. They are very accommodating and will work to meet your needs.

Yes.
Congratulations on the progeny![:D] I understand how that changes things. Fun times ahead.[:)]
