Hey guys, need some help out here. I have a CVT B7 A4, and am looking to run a custom exhaust on it. I know the tip transmission makes it hard to work with, but I know its possible as I've seen and heard of it done. I currently have a 034 HFC and two magnaflow mufflers and am looking to running un-resonated piping between them, probably around 2.5 inch. I went to a shop, and not only did they refuse to install the HFC (along with saying it would be too hard for them), but they said they were charging around 600+ to do the piping and attach the mufflers....which seems a bit steep. They also said the stock B7 A4 piping is 2.25 inches....shows how little they know as its been proven to get EXTREMELY narrow and restrictive at multiple spots. I need some suggestions preferably in the Ventura area (I'm located in thousand oaks) of a good shop who can do these services at (hopefully) a good price. I can drive out of ventura if necessary, I really wanna find the right place, as the place I've checked out was a no go. Need a place that is willing to install the hfc and is comfortable fabbing a downpipe and piping system for a CVT. I've seen people who have the exact setup I'm talking about have it done for them custom for a great price. Thank you to anybody who can provide some suggestions....I'm willing to pay to play, if it's fair that is! Looking forward to any suggestion you guys can provide!

Try Fast Intentions...They specialize in custom exhaust and are located in Simi Valley.

Fast Intentions are great. Did my B6 and B7 S4 exhaust work.

Fast Intentions charges more than GMG charges its Porsche customers per hour.

Evolution Racewerks isn't in Ventura, but it's not that far from Fast Intentions and IMO do much better work. I have never seen welds and bends as clean as Fred@ER does them.

ER did my custom 2.5" Downpipe for my tiptronic and it turned out great. They are also much more reasonable than FI.

FI wanted to charge me $1,400 to do an exhaust and downpipe on my car and I WAS SUPPLYING THE MUFFLERS.

My $0.02

Thanks to everybody else for the input! Keep it coming, it's much appreciated!

ER is great...I have a set of their intercoolers but they are in Baldwin Park. I didn't know they do exhaust work but either way, FI does some great exhaust work and that's what they specialize in. I'll check them both out when I get my exhaust but it just so happens that GMG has the best exhaust I've ever seen/heard for my car.
Like the OP said, you "gotta pay to play" (usually).

Max, your case is special, you want a specific sound and only GMG has the mufflers and resonators to make that happen.

I was just really turned off by FI, I was planning on using them myself before I went to ER, but the guy I spoke to gave me an astronomical quote and told me that he doesn't have time to do it for another 2 weeks and that he would try and fit me in then.

Well, I'm always more interested in dealing with good people who make good products at the same time. The main thing with the GMG exhaust is the 3.5" piping they use and the beautiful brushed finish on their tips.
If ER can make me something similar (maybe out of titanium), I might have to see what's up with them when the time comes. They seem like good people based on the one time I went there to grab my SMIC's.

I vouch for ER, the whole team really opened their doors to me when I had an issue. They fab'd up a piece for my fmic quick and without any problems. Their pricing is good for the quality of work they do.

I'll be buying their fmic soon.

LaBree Motorsports (http://www.labreemotorsports.com/)

Supposedly, this is where Fast Intentions learned their craft from back in the day. Heck, they're only ~10 minutes from each other.

Anyway, LaBree is MUCH better priced than FI.

Good call on Labree...for some reason, I thought they worked together or was the same as FI but I guess not.

Alright so went into labree, gave me a good price for everything, still thinking but they sound pretty good right now...fast intentions had a really nice place, nice guy, and had some nice cars in there....blue supercharged rs4 made me drool :o however, they wanted an arm and a leg to do it all....pretty expensive but I can tell they do some good work
