wasnt sure where to put this so here it is.
my question is: Are windshields tinted from the outside or inside(seems like they would have to remove it to do it this way).
The reason ask is because my school expects me to stick their parking pass on my windshield, normally no problem, But the kind they use are litteraly STICKERS and it is a PAIN IN THE ASS to remove them(had to use a razor blade last year and pry it from my vehicle and the sticker chipped off and left gunk). i want to use windshield tint as an excuse(if it is on the inside) because i got my car with 50% tint already on the windshield.
OR do you guys know any other ways i could sneak by, my girlfriend used saran wrap but they left a note on her car also telling her to "affix it to your car"

Wrong section but, Window tint is usually done on the inside so that the windshield wipers don't tear into it once they are turned on. How about parking somewhere else, if you don't want their sticker to interfere? Is it safe to park in this designated area? to where the car wont be broken into, therefor justifying the damn sticker?

Payed for parking already and the only other spot near the school with parking is a vacant lot that no business ever moved into across a "main" road about half a mile from the school

Just don't peel it off. Instead use tape and neatly tape it around the edges it's only temporary right?

that's a good idea. they probably want to try and ensure you're not passing the parking permit from car to car. if you do a neat job, it should work out.

I went through this a couple of years ago. I hate all those stickers. My solution was to take a clear piece of plastic (like a folder cover or whatever) only about 1/16th of an inch thick and about 3' X 8", paste the sticker on the plastic and then fold the platic in half. Then push it in place (lower left of the widnshield). The fold will press the sticker into the windshield between your dash and the widnshield. I did this for years without any issue. Did it at school, with parking or registration stickers etc. Never once had a hassle.
You remove it when you go to drive.
If they told me they needed me to stick it to the widnshield becuase they were worried about transferring to other car owners....that's their problem. Find another system if it doesn't work for them.
You can also use the plastic material used for Boat windows. Heat it with blowdryer, stick the sticker to it then heat the front of it (you can even use the heat coming from vents in your car) to soften it up and put it on window. Then to remove just heat with defroster and peel. I do this with my reg and inspection stickers.

Got it resolved. Told the parking person about my tint and that i wasnt putting it on windshield and he let me keep it where it is after he ranted. I appreciate all the feedback

Good to hear, because that's something so insignificant, as you are there to learn....

Interesting... I don't run my registration or parking sticker on my tinted windshield. I laminated them and keep both in my center console.
