I called up Penske Audi in West Covina, CA for a quote on Stasis ECU upgrade ( just the ECU, nothing else) on my B8 2.0L Avant. They quoted me $1295 + $265 Labor for a total of $ 1560.00 (not including tax)[o_o]. Also I need to drop off my car for a week with no loaner car provided [:(] I wonder if there is another Audi Dealer in the area that offer slightly better price or service. I know the following Audi dealers offers Stasis in the Los Angeles area:

- Penske Audi, West Covina
- McKenna Audi, Norwalk
- Circle Audi , Long Beach
- Pacific Audi, Torrance
- Commonwealth Audi, Santa Ana

Any recommendation or experience to share? I know I'm getting this thing after sitting in another B8 Avant Owner's car with Stasis package. The car feels so much more alive with the Stasis engine upgrade [cool]

I was told once never post a thread without a picture [:p]: Here is a Stasis Avant currently sits in the Penske Audi Showroom. If I just waited a month before getting my Avant in Penske, I would actually see this beauty and jump on it! For more pics, check Stasis's Facebook Photo Album. ( I am not affiliated with Penske Audi or Stasis)

Most dealers will extend the rental car, it is not required however. PM me your information and I can either find you a dealer that will work for you or work with the dealer you went to and have STaSIS cover your rental car for a few days.

Thank you Tifani! I'm sending you a PM right now :)

Nonetheless, I must agree with other guys here saying Stasis is NOT CHEAP. I just think it's a personal choice when it comes to quality, performance, and a peace of mind (factory warranty) compares to the price. Hopefully I'll find out myself within the next couple weeks and write a satisifed hands-on review.

Yeah, Penske sucks when it comes to loaners. That's why I never go there anymore.
Go to Pacific or McKenna - I've never had a problem getting a loaner from either of them.

Stasis doesn't retain your factory warranty if Audi deems the tune responsible for whatever failure you encounter. Audi will deny the warranty claim, and it's up to Stasis to reimburse/cover you (with their warranty).

+1 Pacific Audi

If you are concerned about $1500, my guess is that you would really lose it if you had just been told you need new pistons/rings to combat oil burning but you have to pay for it out of pocket since you have an ECU tune from a company that doesn't give you a 4 year/50k mile factory matching warranty. At that point, you'd be wishing that you had spent a bit more for a warranty. Then again if I had a B7, I probably wouldn't be concerned with warranties either.

Correct! And whenever there has been any question about who pays, Audi or Stasis, I have been blissfully ignorant and my car has been repaired each time without me opening my wallet. It's not as if I ever have had to submit claims to Stasis. Just go to a Stasis authorized Audi Dealer and you are taken care of.

Is there another B8 A4 ECU tune available in the U.S. market that offers a factory matching warranty?... [;)]

I know it wasn't on the list, but I figure I'd warn others to steer clear of Audi Mission Viejo. I had my S4 stasis flashed there and it was a nightmare. What was supposed to be a 5 day job (sending the ecu to Stasis and back) turned into a 2 and a half week job. After the initial week, the sales rep at MV was going out of his way to avoid my calls. And when I did get a hold of him (during one call he actually cussed... as if he were caught!), he kept blaming Stasis, who turned around and blamed them. So basically someone dropped the ball and I had to go 2.5 weeks with out my car (which I had only for a couple of weeks at this point). They ended up knocking a couple of hundred off the job... but wasn't worth the headache and all the lying.

I should have went with Commonwealth, they're owned by Crevier and service there is great...

just sharing...

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, I would be more than happy to look into it and see if I can shed some light on what happened. How is your car performing with the upgrade, what do you like best?

Thanks Tifani, the service rep was blaming it on Stasis going through some personnel changes at the time, but I suspect that it was actually the dealership that dropped the ball. I understand things like this happen, but it was just really handled poorly by the service rep. That's why I'm definitely never going back to Audi MV again.

I love the car after the upgrade, but I really have no basis to compare it to since it was basically brand new when it got flashed.
