i currently pay 2200 for a 6 month premium from geico... which is ridiculous. I need to switch to a new company. What do you guys recommend? Ive had no accidents ever. I have had speeding tickets about 4-5 years ago but nothing recent. 0 points on my license. thanks!

What's your age / marital status?
I use geico and pay $900 / 6 month in northern nj.

It's your age and being single. when you hit 25 it may go down, and definitely when you are 30. in the meantime get a wife! :)

i've been with Travelers for several years and I think they're a great company, as far as insurance companies go. I've had a couple of claims with them and their service has been excellent, which you're going to want if you ever file a claim.

Mine dropped when I turn 25. My premium is about $825 for 6 months.

Picking up my 13 S4 tomorrow. I just added the S4 to my policy today. I am paying $775 for 2 cars (13 S4 and 12 550I).
BTW, I am 30 and my wife is 29. It did help when I switched my wife from secondary to primary on the policy.
Edit- I just noticed that it was meant for NJ people only. [:/]
26 years old, premium is $655 via state farm

Geico is pretty good with insurance and the discounts. I did not see a huge jump when i turned 25 as everyone had always clamored about. When i updated my profile education (B.S Engineering) / occupation (Mech Engineer) I saw a pretty substantial decrease in my 6month premium fwiw.

From my experience, you're already with the best company in NJ. I've been through a few companies and a couple of years ago did a lot of research. Geico is by far the lowest for me. They also have the best/fastest/fairest claim system going. I'm more than twice your age though. I'd give them a call and ask why your premium is so high. There may be factors you can control.

im 33, wife 32. clean record. pay less then 600 for 6 months with mbi coverage with geico. i was using allstate then switched. allstate was 630 for 6 months. Coverage/age/driving record/deductibles has a lot to do with it.

Are you or someone in your family in the military? HIGHLY recommend USAA. Been with them for 20ish years. 43, married, 1 speeding ticket; high coverage limits $511 for 6 mo.

32, single and pay $113 per month($1 extra for paying monthly) so about $681 per 6 months. Policy went up $50 per year from 2010 A4 to 2011 S4
Are you sure you have a clean license? Call Geico and ask them why your insurance is so outrageous. But first, call Allstate and other major insurance companies and get quotes from them, then try Geico to match the best deal you were offered. 24/single is not the best age for cheap insurance, but that amount is just too much for NJ.

"Full coverage" doesn't really mean anything. The one thing I see everyone here leaving out is what limits they have - that is unless NJ has statutory limits for personal auto insurance. Here in Los Angeles I'm paying $1500 every 6 months for a 2012 S4 and a 2012 Charger SRT8 with 250k/500k limits, including un/underinsured motorist, rental reimbursement and towing. Granted I'm getting multi-car and multi-policy discounts (homeowners) but the two drivers are me (27 no tickets) and my wife (just turned 26 two days ago with 1 ticket). I'm with Mercury, but I'm not sure they are out in NJ or how competitive they might be.
$2200 every 6 months sounds ridiculously expensive for someone with a clean record, even if you are under 25. Do you rent or own a home? Perhaps you could get a renters policy if you rent and get a multi-policy discount in the process. Renters policies out here are dirt cheap, I'm sure it's similar out there.
Edit: For the record, I am an insurance agent in California. I concede that my focus is commercial insurance and not personal (auto or home) but I know enough to see that with the facts given you appear to be overcharged.

I was with Geico and they kept raising the rate every year despite no claims or tickets. You are better getting an independant rep to price things out for you. I asked a sharp business guy for the rep he uses, and saved several thousand a year on home and auto. PM me if you want his info.

33 single and two moving violations that haven't dropped off yet. I pay 1000 for 6 months. Wish it was lower.
