Went in for 15,000 mile service and after no major problems at all i was ready to do either the APR or ( the new Stasis/Revo if they had it ) at my dealer which does both inhouse at the Service Motor Sports division.
Head service guy who is really cool and knows his stuff said ***NOT*** to do it ( even tho they do it at the dealer ) because of the warranty issue...Really pissed but i cant take the chance with my 2012...

What do all of you out there do when it comes time to bring it in ???

Seems like its some 'code/flag' that pops up if your vehicle is tuned, and the new software ECU is detected when your car is hooked up. You're basically flagged by Audi, and this can potentially void your warranty. I think its happened to a few guys on this site.

I personally wouldn't touch the car until the warranty is up.

No.

TD1 is a flag applied to your VIN as soon as they plug in the Audi diagnostic tool. Audi USA is doing this, not the dealer. It doesn't void anything, it's just a warning for any dealer that says the car has been modified. There are indeed some dickish dealers that will use it as grounds to deny everything, but that's really rare.

If it concerns you, leave it stock. Or go Stasis so they will foot any bills Audi won't.

I would say this is hardly the case. It's not in any dealers interest to fix a car and not be backed by AoA, it basically comes out of their pocket...

Correct, but at the same time they do not want to turn off their owners and develop a bad reputation.

Like I said: if you are concerned just leave it stock, or go for Stasis.

I keep bringing mine to the same dealer that put the Stasis ECM, downpipes, and exhaust in. It's the same dealer that sold the car and did all of the regular service on it. They know me, they know the car....and they've never given me a hard time over any of it. Stasis knows the dealership very well, too.

Schaumburg. Continental and Laurel/Westmont are both fine, but I still prefer Schaumburg. I hear good things about The Exchange.

Nolan in the service department is a cool dude, go talk to him.

I bring it in proudly with my APR sticker on the car.

Not all warranty work is denied. If your A/C dies, they fix it and stuff like that.

OMG this is the most discussed, vetted and rung out topic in the history of Audi forums since the begining of time... (well maybe not but it feels that way)

PLEASE search this topic, your cooperation is appreciated [;)]

agreed, if not just for the reason that the "overly-harsh-disgust with noob questions posts" are just as discouraging as "the queries" themselves.

Get a stasis tune and you'll get a 4 yr 50k mile warranty. Done.

What we need is some sort of upgrade plan from Team REVO/STaSIS...

Buy a StaSIS signature tune to get coverage during your warranty period and then pay a (small!) upgrade fee to switch over to the REVO setup when you Audi warranty is up.

This is called building a long term customer base. I'm just sayin'...
