Recently my car went to the shop to replace a front left wheel bearing that started humming between the 30-70 mph range that everyone seems to experience when they go. I had to get new tires put on the car last week, had an alignment done and all was good, for two days. It now seems like the front right wheel bearing is shot.

My main question is, is this normal? I mean I could see one go but not both on the front in a matter of 3,000 miles from one another. Car does not have spacers on it (read on AudiWorld that that could be a factor for their failure), never raced/tracked and still running OEM wheels. What factors could be an issue for them that I should keep a lookout for if anyone else is experiencing problems. Car is a 2011 with 23,500 miles on it.

Bad luck man. I read of another forum member having both bearings replaced. Maybe one nasty pot hole could start the bearing going bad?

More likely that the correction of one damaged bearing caused a larger force upon the failure mode of the other, accelerating wear to end of life. You traditionally see this whenever replacing bearings of a paired system.
