Thinking about doing a new set of wheels yet to be done on a B8 :)
Specs:
19x10
ET35
245/35/19
The stretch is very moderate. At 25.5" fender to ground height will I have any issues running this setup?
I'm currently running 18x8" 245/40 ET30 with no rubbing.
What do you guys think? From what I believe the fitment will be very similar to this:

Do you have 20mm of poke to spare in the fenders?
There will be 30mm added to the inset as well to figure in.

That's what confuses me. My tires now are bulging bc it's
245 on a 8"' so 245 on a 10" should bring the tire in a lot.

Personally, I think it will look awful. I had one of my OEM 255/35/19s mounted on a 9.5" wide wheel the other day and I though it looked terrible. 9.5" wide wheel top, OEM 8.5" wheel at the bottom. See the curvature at the oustide shoulder (left edge) of the tire on the 9.5" wide wheel? Compare that to the much more square shoulder of the same tire on the OEM wheel:

I'm sure it would also have performed terribly, given the rounding of the tire shoulder that resulted from the stretched tire. Your situation of a narrower tire on an even wider wheel sounds like a really bad idea to me. My $0.02

Honestly- I think a 255 is too wide for a 8" wheel and fits a 9.5 or 10 perfectly. 245 is a very slight stretch on a 9.5. I don't track my car- I drive it fast and aggressively but I don't think a 245 on a 10" will take away from driving experience. I just want to know that it'll fit. I know Blake ran 19x10 ET39 with a 255 so this is close..

Pete, someone on here runs 19x10 et36 with a 255/35/19.. so you'll be 1mm more aggressive than him. i believe he's running Vossens.

Hokay, well it's your money. You asked what we thought - I told you what I think. I didn't think that the point was to agree with you, but mebbe I was mistaken?
BTW - the OEM 19" wheels are 8.5" wide, not 8".
Either way, good luck. Let us know how your tire wear looks after a few thousand miles, 'k?

out of curiosity, which wheels are 19x9.5? your sig shows S5 wheels, but S5 wheels are 19x9 peelers or 19x8.5 5 spokes.

I'm running 255's on a 10" and it's a moderate stretch....I feel like 245 might be pushing it, but I know some of the stanceworks guys have put 205's on a 10" with some insane stretch.

The S5 wheels that were made especially for me from Audi! Mistype, meant 19x9. I am pretty sure the titanium wheels for the S5 are 19x9.
I think the 245s will work, but it will be stretched.

Yeah 19x9 Titaniums. 19x9 for peelers and 19x8.5 for the normal s5 wheels

It somewhat depends on the tire. Some have more squared off shoulders and can take a wider wheel without compromising the contact patch.
In the end I am not understanding this whole stretch craze so my advice is to just get a tire/wheel combo that fits. Sounds like your proposed one does not.

+1
To each his own, but it seems to me that you are compromising the performance of a performance machine when you stretch tires. Frankly, I don't understand doing anything that doesn't enhance performance or, worse yet, is detrimental to the awesome dynamics of the S4 (lowering the car for the sake of lowering, spacers, stretch, etc.).
But them again, I am a fan of keeping the car completely stock as I feel the engineers in Germany can do it better than I can, or maybe its just because I'm old(er)!

Pete, seriously consider a 275 tire on a 9.5 and more offset, 43-45mm. I know it won't have the look you want, but jeez it will have the grip. Basically the Eurocode car setup.

I really love the look of the 19x9.5 on a factory 255/35/20. It gives the car such a flush look. We run BBS CH-R's as alternative sets for the TAG Twins and they look stunning. Anyone in the area feel free to drop by and check them out for yourselves....
Feel free to contact us regarding any 19x9.5 setup. There are quite a few options from the MORR's, BBS, VMR's and more!

Call the guys at Tirerack. I agree, stretch is BRUTAL. ITs an incorrect fitment. It always looks to me like the wheels were stolen because they look like they don't fit. Why drive a great handling car and do that?

Yup. Theres a couple here other than Eurocode that went that way. Eurocode went ET43 I believe, the others went ET45. All of them were lowered without rubbing issues (or unless maybe fully loaded in the back seat).
Remember not all 275/30s are made alike, there are differences between brands and models esp in section width and at the shoulder. The tire rack shows all specs, tread width and section width, check carefully. The Eurocode car had Conti DW tires on, not sure what the others have.

Ok, I'd search long and hard for reviews on that, I guess if the price is amazing then go for it.
Otherwise, you can't go wrong with a set of Michelin Super Sports, unless doing fully of miles at the track (Socfan shredded a set of SSs at the track in two days). Both of us went up to Max performance tires (RE-11) and others have gone AD08 since we still felt like we wanted more than an Ultra performance tire could handle in terms of abuse. Stick with an XL rated tire for sidewall load.

Yeah the deal I can get on those both is ridiculous and a no brainier for me. Michelin are too much for me as I just do a lot of highway driving and no track running
