Not sure when or how it happened, but I noticed a weird scratch pattern on my front bumper (driver side near the bottom). It torn the Clear Bra and took out the paint underneath.

Should I just cut away the clear bra at those spots and use Dr.ColorChip? Afterwards I'm thinking instead of leaving those spots exposed (no clear bra), I can put a strip of white tape over them. It's so low the tape shouldn't be noticeable. Anyone got suggestion for doing something different?

Thanks in advance!

Have you used Dr. Color Chip before? I've used it. It works OK. You'll have to put multiple layers on to fill in the paint. Also, when I got my car detailed, it all came off. Maybe I did it wrong, but I'm going to do it again and see what happens.

Haven't used Dr. ColorChip or any touch-up paint before, but saw many people recommend it in other threads.

You will likely make it worse if it went through the clear bra. I wouldn't touch it.

I don't mind leaving it like that at all, less time and money spent. Will rusting be a concern?

new bumper and paint - $1100...thats what I did but then again the person that hit/scratched/damaged the bumper will be paying.

That seems pretty high. A good body shop can fix the dings, smooth it out, and respray for less than $1100. Probably won't even have to remove the bumper to do it.
