View Full Version : Any other B8 S4's doing the Sept 8 Pocono HPDE?
Looks like I'm the only S4 registered for the twilight track session (4pm to midnight on Saturday September 8th). Too many BMWs and Porsches, too few Audi's. Info below.

What exactly is an HDPE event? It's not racing or competitive event. Does it just allow you to get up to high speed on a track? Also, will stock brake/rotor and tires be sufficient?

It stands for High Performance Driving Event. For your stock breaks, rotors and lines; it depends what you intend to do and your driving style but if you plan on being aggresive, they will not hold up at all.
The EOM stuff is great for DD but track is another game. On top you have already modded the car so i doubt you'll pamper it and will try to get it sideways somehow and that my friend without a good performance break system is probably asking for trouble ;-)
Then again, depending on your intentions, it might work out but i doubt...

Arugh...i was afraid of that. I guess if there's a lot of high speed braking, the stock pads will fade easily and the brake fluid might boil? I've only done autocross so there isn't a huge need for aggressive brake pads.
