As I am currently in Hong Kong, I was able to get the (very nearby) supplier ship the grill directly to me. So here's what you can expect:

I actually ordered the satin silver surround grill but there seems to have been a mix-up and I was sent a gloss black surround grill, so this is going right back to the supplier for a replacement.
I'm told that I only got the RS4 trunk badge and Audi rings because I had the item sent to me directly from the supplier, which means those who are getting the item sent out from XXX fulfillment center still won't be getting them because of customs issues.
Looks very nice though, though I'd prefer to have it in the color I ordered [:p]

No copyright laws in China. Take a look at some of the new Chinese cars sometime. It's like they just swapped badges with some Mercs and bmw's.

Thanks for the feedback, it does look fairly high quality. The supplier says they're going to send the correct one out first thing tomorrow so here's hoping I get the replacement before I leave HK.
The original Audi rings are supposed to be a direct fit onto this grill, but some people say that the clips used are designed for one use only so several people are buying new rings specifically for this. There's a GB request here (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/490046-Chrome-Audi-Ring-Emblem-for-Front-Grill-B8-A4-S4) which Europrice are going to be helping out on.
Yes, this is the same grill that 'jcsportline2009' is selling on eBay (they're the supplier for this grill in the GB). You'll be paying roughly $100 more than the GB price though ($220+$75 shipping).

I think because they're reusing a set of rings from another grille. I suspect once you install it, it won't be noticeable.

All the pictures I've seen of RS grills show the mesh within the rings to be made of a smaller pattern like you see on these. So if I had to hazard a guess, I would say it's that way on these in order to more closely imitate OEM RS grills.

It may also be to reinforce the emblem area, since that's a weak spot being in the middle.

That is absolutely not true. If you remove the rings correctly they will stay fully intact and be able to be used again anywhere. Anyone who has taken the emblems off without snapping clips knows this...

Got it. Just relaying on what I read, wasn't making any claims myself. Bit strange how there are people on here looking to purchase another set of rings specifically for this grille if it's that easy to swap them out then.

The rings off a 2013 should fit. The grille however is a completely different shape...
Just arrived back in Vancouver a few days ago, an undamaged satin silver surround grille in tow. I'll be getting it installed in a week or two. Here's a quick pic of how it was packaged up for the 10,000km journey over...
http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z451/yamanote/IMAG0298.jpg
Foam sheets and balled-up paper inside for padding. Doesn't sound like much but it evidently worked fine.
http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z451/yamanote/IMAG0299.jpg
And the grill itself:
http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z451/yamanote/IMAG0301.jpg
As you probably notice, the RS4 badge is missing. It looks like I completely overlooked this because I was too busy looking for any damage. [:o]
And some close ups of the satin silver finish.
http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z451/yamanote/IMAG0303.jpg
http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z451/yamanote/IMAG0304.jpg
It's definitely not the same finish as on the mirror caps- there's a clear glossy layer over the paint. The paint looks like a good match though, and it looks the same from a distance, so I'm still happy with it. Looking forward to seeing it on my car.
Oh, and the RS4 trunk badge? It certainly wasn't going anywhere near my car, so I've slapped it on my fridge [:D]

What are your plans for the badge? I'm curious as to how you're going to go about tackling that since you didn't get an RS4 badge for it to modify the mounting points.

you can do that but it will look silly. the rs4 backplate is huge compared to the stock one, my method looks the most oem and is removable like oem

In for installed pics on the car.
The PO of my car painted the grill surround black with kyrlon and it's starting to chip away. Can't decide if I wanna get the whole grill painted at a body shop or get this grill. [confused]
It'll probably be a wash in terms of cost. I guess the HomeLink sensor can be glued under the intake scoop like someone else mentioned and I could always paint the crash bar black if it really stands out.

Yes I did, unfortunately CC disputes have a time limit of 60 days. So whatever happens here on out we have no power over.
They could very well say the grilles got confiscated at customs and we would be the ones stuck with thumbs up our @$$es.

Really depends on how much 90$ is worth to you and the need to put the grill on now. I would like to get it, but my current grill is fine. If I had no grill I'd be pretty upset with the delays, but when working in manufacturing you get used to dealing with unforeseen delays.
If you really need the grill fast, buy it from Ebay and then sell the GB one when it comes in...

You guys realize that the GB grills had to be manufactured, packaged, shipped, clear customs (twice), and then will still have to be distributed across the country once they get to the US? We got a hell of a deal on them, so be patient. Otherwise, spend the extra $90 and buy one now, then throw your GB grill into the classified section when it arrives, and you'll be able to get at least what you paid for it back.

Customs does not have time to inspect every last item. I suspect it'll be x-rayed, show up as some random car part, and go right through.
