Hey guys,

I got around to installing my Appradio Pioneer aftermarket radio today and I encountered three problems that I need your help with. Yes, I have searched each of them, and tried to follow the threads as trouble shooting but need some definitive answers here

Notes - I current have four wires from the radio harness not being used. 3 brown wires and 1 blue wire with a white stripe

1. Headunit never turns off

2. rear speakers do not work (i've tried to connect to the RCA outs as well)

3. What do I do with the parking break wire? do I put it in a constant ground?

Would really appreciate all of your help!!

Thanks for the reply! I've tried to come up with some solutions by doing some heavy digging on this and other forums.

It's a 2008 Audi A4, with the double din symphony radio (the large single wiring harness in the back), non bose

The first issue it sounds like I need to re-wire the red wire coming from my headunit to a constant power source? Any suggestions on which to tap? Just a fuse?

The second it sounds like I also just need to have ignition power to tell the factory amp to turn on?

Parking brake wire, it sounds like I need a car alarm relay (ordered for 2.50 on ebay)

Does this all sound correct? trying to do a lot of searching last night!

Red needs to go to switched 12V. Orange to illumination. Or you can get this and it takes car of everything including steering wheel controls.

As far as the parking brake that sounds like you are trying to bypass it.

Orange must be for radio illumination & yes you are correct

3. What do I do with the parking break wire? do I put it in a constant ground?

Sorry I meant orange to illumination. You just have to find a wire that comes on and off with the parking lights. I always use the SRWH kit so I don't have to cut any factory wires and take apart the car.

The parking brake is supposed to go to the parking brake. If you are trying to bypass it I cannot help you with that for legal reasons.

Thanks for the help!

Yep, I got the parking brake issues figured out, so that's all good.

So I have red and blue/white going to a switched power (for the power and factory amp to turn on)

and the purple/green wires weren't activating the speakers so I have them wired in the RCA outs that are on the aftermarket headunit. I'm going to make a run at getting it all working tonight again, hopefully it will be all good!

Thanks for all your help!

Wait what? Blue white turns on the factory amp (output). Red is switched input.

If you do not have bose then yes the rear runs off the RCA. If you do have bose then all 4 run off the rca..

What should I have the blue/white running to? When i turn the car on, i hear the rear speakers hiss, but no sound comes out. I tried connecting rear speaker to the RCA cables, to the corresponding head unit outs, everything. Nothing seems to be working...

The blue and white goes to the cars amp turn on wire.
