So I'm looking into running this set-up on my D2 A8L. I have a 20x8.5 up front and a 20x10.5 out back. Will these tire sizes screw w/the AWD and the 3-4% difference in rolling diameter? I was gonna go w/ a 255/35/20 in the front, but didn't want a tire that wide on an 8.5" wheel. Any input is appreciated, thanks guys.

I think the difference between 245 and 295 is close to 8% or more. Is that 295 a typo?

No it was correct, 295. I bought the setup brand new, everything already mounted/balanced. So I was gnna give it a try. But I might just end up selling the tires and buying a narrower set.

What is the overall diameter of the two different sizes?

The 245/35/20 = 26.8"
The 295/30/20 = 27.0"

1st...staggered wheels on an AWD? ...Why? ...utterly silly, to put appearance over function & designed balance (IMHO). But that's another thread. If that is what you already have and are sticking with it, then >>>

Yes, the difference will screw with the torsen diff...BAD idea.

Go with the 255/35/20 on the front...no where NEAR too wide...245's on 8" rims are common (stock D2 S8) and work very well. A 255 on an 8.5" rim is actually a slight stretch in comparison, which will handle crisp and tight...no overhang.

I had considered going with a 285/30/20 in the rear instead. That will put the front and rear rolling diameter dead even. Then I wouldn't have any concerns w the AWD. And once I lower the car, I'll be better off with a slightly narrower tire front and rear instead of going with a bigger tire upfront to compensate the size difference. They're Pirelli P-Zero tires, so replacing them isn't something I'm too excited to do. The rears are $400+ each! I might just sell the tires since they're brand new and just buy a less expensive set. We'll see what the next couple weeks bring me. Thanks for the input as well.

i'd use 285 in the back here

even 285 is going to be very hard to fit.

I'm running 20x10 in front and 20x10.5 in the rear. I had 265/35/20 in the back and it would rub pretty bad. I'm guessing you're rear wheel is poking a little bit, so you're going to have to stretch the tire. I'm running 245/35/20 with no issues now.

I honestly can't understand the logic behind staggered wheels on an AWD set-up. The D2 has enough trans issues sticking with the regular set-up.

And for reference, why would you feel 255/35x20 are too wide on an 8,5"x20" wheel? That's standard fare for a D2 with factory 20's.
