Have been looking over the how to videos for power polishing and have ordered in a DA polisher kit. Porter Cable with pads and polishing compounds. Also Power Lock sealant for after polishing. But i have a question on how to do the areas one can not get the 5.5 " DA pads at.
Areas such as color matched mirrors and or to small of areas. Do you just ues the pads from the DA polisher by hand or should I be buying hand pads of some type?

Not confident that this is the best answer, but I just use a small hand applicator for it (mainly under the mirrors and "inside/underneath" door handles). I have the Griot's DA from DetailersDomain and it gets the mirrors pretty good. Just be smarter than me and only put a very little bit (or even just leftover) and lower the speed.

^^ what he said. You have to use some discretion with the tight areas. I even bought a 3.5" backer plate and pads for polishing the pillars and other narrower spots.

Yep, use 3.5" pads on those tighter areas. Fold the mirrors if need be for better access.

For these areas I really like my small Griot's polisher that uses 3" pads. Just enough torque to get the job done, and much quicker than polishing by hand. Of course, this is another reason I use 4" pads with the PC. Not only do you get that focused extra bit of grunt, but you're able to get very close to those tight areas before considering alternatives. As always, err on the side of caution, spend the extra time up front taping off trim & seams, and keep a close eye on how the polish is breaking down.
