4.2 FSI - Intake Plenum (08 A6 C6)

Does anyone have a diagram of the procedure for removing the intake?

I plan on powder-coating or chroming this piece (its got some stains from previous oil changes) and a diagram would be great.

Not the same motor or platform, but it may give you a bit of insight.

Post some pictures of your engine bay if you give it a try and get stuck.

Also be careful if you remove the upper half of the IM (assuming construction is similar to older 4.2s), the seal between the halves is rather delicate.

That is an awesome Write up! Thanks for the quick reply - im hoping to do a similar colour to his intake before he changed it. Looking for the blacked chrome look - but ill try and clean mine first. (It has a few spots - not rust - but corrosion or oil of some type and it looks tacky)
