Do you have any method to clean the coolant expansion tank ?

I would think since they are inexpensive enough, you could just buy a new one.

Replace it. I replaced mine like 30k ago, and will replace it again when I do my TB. Either that, or paint my current one.

Not worth the time in cleaning.. I had replaced mine for abour $30 shipped as well and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Looks so much cleaner and newer with a brand new one. You might want to replace the Thermostat while your replacing coolant expansion tank as well.

I got a new one on rock auto. It was like $20 shipped. Thy start cracking as well. Get a new one and do a coolant flush. Hope it is not against the rules. They are just cheaper than ECS.

If you end up in a situation where you have to clean it out or just aren't willing to wait for shipping, you can use a mix of water and CLR. Swirl and shake it around - it gets a lot of crap out of there.
