Hi -
I just got rear ended, guy just tapped me as I was slowing to a stop. His plate took a chunk of the paint off my bumper, do you think this can easily be repaired by an auto body repair shop? I'd say it's about 1" high, pic attached. Any recommendations in Brooklyn, NY?

Did you get his insurance information? If so, his insurance is paying for it. The body shop will more than likely melt that area of the bumper and repaint it. It's pretty easy for them to do.

Bah, dude drove off before I could even do anything. Got a quote this morning for $275 to fill in the bumper, sand and repaint the bumper. Seemed reasonable to me and the body shop has good reviews on Yelp. Let's see what happens, dropping it off tomorrow.

That sucks. You didn't get his plate number?
In Germany... hit and run = no more license and jail time. Plus, everyone who saw it is required by law to stop unless they want to get fined. Good samaritan law.

That's a pretty good price for Brooklyn. Make sure they are a good shop.

Perfect! I just picked it up. Except, I have a screw in my tire (they are fixing, just need to go tomorrow to their tire guy) and I noticed a little wax in the seam between panels that I will need to get wiped out the next professional wash I get.
