G'day guys,

Probably been posted before but I just want to make sure. Im not an expert so I wouldn't know what is different on the 1.8 in the b7 and b6... My problem- I recently got apr stage 1 and happy with it but the last couple days I've noticed and more so in second gear when I feed it boost comes on but at around 3-4k revs it kind of flat line then you'll feel it pull again through the revs, like I said i notice it in second gear pretty much.. Could this be a boost leak? I've read about the dv being a problem in a4s. I've also read somewhere that replacing it with an oem dv is better than aftermarket dv? If anyone could give me some info that would be great.
Cheers.

When running more than stock boost, the stock dv will rip. Replace it and go from there. As far as which one to go with, it's up to you. If wanting to go OEM, use the 710n from the Audi TT. If aftermarket, then you have your choices. I used to run a 710n (direct swap), switched to Forge 007 (direct swap), then to Forge 004 (can be used, but you need to install properly), and currently running a Forge 001 (you can't use this as I'm using this on a bigger turbo application with no MAF).

Thanks for a reply seerlah, would the apr tune increase boost? So you think that's why it feels like its flat lining then boosting again? Does that sound like dv? It's a pretty straight forward swap right? May try the 710n and go from there.

Get a boost gauge. The thing is that many of the stock components are meant for stock power. This would include your stock diverter valve. Along with that, you will notice more rubber hoses and vacuum lines in your engine bay start to rip and leak. This is why many remove most of these lines or replace them with silicone hose.

I have no idea how your car is behaving, and this is something you should learn so you will know if your car is running normal or not. A boost gauge will help greatly here. An ECU flash is meant to increase your stock boot by roughly double. This is why you get it flashed in the first place...for more boost.

spend some time in the B6 A4 section, to learn more about your vehicle. The US version of the B6 A4 is the same engine you have. You just have a newer chassis. There are a couple members on here from Australia.
