Proper term is "shoes" lol

Wouldn't shoes really be tires? I hope people don't start calling air intakes noses, I'll be really upset.

NICE!! Looks like you went with 235s too. Great choice on rubber too! Could you feel a big difference when you swapped them over? What's your initial impressions? Oh yeah, I run 36psi in mine, front and rear...

That damn "crow"... LOL!!!

So the hubs would be the feet...
the wheels would be the shoes...
and the tires would be the rubber sole of the shoes....

yea, the 235's look great on the wheel, quite glad you guys convinced me to get them over the 225's, those would have just looked too "thin". I've got mine at ~35, I'll try 36 soon.

Sadly, I'm gunna have to raise the front like a 1/4-1/2" cause of rubbing, but considering I can barely get 1 finger in there now....

As far as difference, its amazing. I mean granted I had snow tires on and before that all-seasons, but still these things just don't let go. yesterday and today I got to drive through some nice twisties(the road along which I took these pictures) and I'm definitly too scared to push the tires cause where the car would before start to show signs that it was nearing the edge I've yet to feel that with these. The other thing I noticed was that the road feedback is immense with these, I love it, such a great feeling.

Did you roll your fenders? If not, I'd HIGHLY suggest it. As I'm sure you've already read in other posts, it is very important to get the paint very hot, or else you'll crack the paint.

I had some major rubbing issues when I put the 235s on, but have not had any issues at all since I rolled the fenders.

Looks great man. Gotta' love Avants!

not yet, but my friend found someone near us that used to work for a body shop and still has his rolling tool, gunna see if he'll do it for us.
what height are you running with the rolled fenders?

I'm not low at all. The front is a little under 25.5" (around 13.5 from center of wheel to fender) and the rears are 25" (around 13.225 from center of wheel to fender). Remember though, I'm on Neuspeed race springs and Koni shocks. I think it could go lower without any rubbing problems. I know I ate into the rubber before rolling them though. It was not pretty at all.

Also, remember that even though 235/40/18s are generally the same size, they are actually quite different when comparing brands. I'm not sure how they all compare. It's been a while since I looked into it. The Tire Rack has all of the specs for most tires if you're interested.

BTW, what's your ride height now? From you pics, it looks like you're a good 1/2 to 1" lower than I am. I wish mine were lower, but don't want to spend any more money at the moment.

do the fenders have to be rolled for sport springs w/235s, not race springs? i was thinking about getting 235s too...

Honestly, you'll never know until you try it. All cars sit just a little different, and with wear, it gets worse.

It's not hard to roll your own fenders though. Just make sure the paint is very hot and take your time. Roll a little bit at a time.

It was well worth it to me. Peace of mind knowing that I won't screw up a fender by taking a corner way too hard or hitting a pothole I can't avoid.

Looks sick Steve! Was hoping I'd pass by your car today but didn't see it, and then I stumbled across this haha. Have you measured your ride height yet? Curious to see where it actually settled. The guy hasn't called me back about the fender rolling but I have faith he will; good friend of a good friend. I think I'm gonna let some air out of my tires, running 45psi...err. Can't wait to see them in person!

Dang man, those pics look great. You're definitely lower than me. Did you get a chance to measure your height? Can't wait to see what it measures, and what you raised it to.

I raised to 25.5 in the front, waiting to roll the fenders. from what I understand ~25.5 w/ rolled fenders is perfect for this size tire. hopefully I can get them rolled next week.

the rear on the other hand is at 25, but since its not rubbing and I didn't have a lot of time last night I'll try and get it done this weekend. Gunna be doing a major detailing job on my car with a friend, he figures it'll take the whole weekend cause of how bad my paint is right now, so we'll see...

but hopefully my car will shine again =)

Did you happen to measure it before you raised it? What were they at?

I'm perfectly happy with mine, although I wouldn't mind if it were a tad lower. It's all good though.

Make sure you post pics after your detail job this weekend. I'm sure you'll be like a new parent! I know I always am after I get her clean!
