Tried searching in this forum with no luck, as well as google...

Basically, I waited too long to get a Clear Bra installed on my baby and now I have a few rock chips (I hate NOVA/DC area traffic)...

I want to have a clear bra installed but, not sure if I should have the rock chips fixed before OR (as I read on a few other forums after googling) if a reputable installer would fix the rock chips as "preparation" for the installation of said clear bra.

any info is appreciated and welcomed... except the "why didn't you do it right away"

Get some Dr Colorchip, fix them and wait a week or so for it to cure, then go get the clear bra installed. You'll want any touch up paint to have enough time to cure before you put the bra on.

Definitely worth investigating a fix... Depending on the installer you're considering for the film, they may also offer touch-up service. In any case, there's really three degrees of "right" for this:

- Install film with the finish as-is. You'll see the imperfections under the film, and while they'll be fairly obvious up-close, you'll likely be the only one who knows they're there.

- Do the touch-ups yourself. This will give you a color match, which against Ibis white will be spot-on, but there's a fairly good chance you'll still notice the imperfections since the touch ups will be higher (most likely) or lower than the rest of the finish. (Even with Dr. Colorchip, IME/IMO...their stuff is really good, but it's darn near impossible to make a chip repair perfectly level without more work. Your mileage may certainly vary.)

- Have the touch-ups done professionally. Here you'll not only get the color match, but the person doing the work will wet-sand and polish to make sure the finish is perfectly level. Obviously this option will cost the most money and take the most time, but it will also look the best.

Good luck...

That was another thing I was worried about, the time I needed to wait after rock chips were fixed before I could have the bra installed...

There is only 4k on the car right now, that's what gets me
