As much as it hurts me to post this, she is GONE but she will be reincarnated.....

I sold the car last year in September and he wrecked it 3 DAYS LATER! It may not look like much but there was so much damage to the rear quarter panel that it was not worth trying to fix. As of right now she sits in my garage and the doner car sits outside my garage. I am taking off ALL of the performance parts as well as cosmetic parts off, to transfer over to the 2001 Audi that awaits so needless to say, I have a fun project in front of me. I will be ordering 2 new wheels as well as a sending out the ecu from the 2001 to APR to run the stage III kit all at the expense of the new owner. As payment I am keeping the shell and all the stock parts that come off of the 2001 when they are replaced with the performance/cosmetic parts which will eventually be sold.

Here is how she looked when she came back as well as how she sits now...

Wow, that sucks man! So the person bought your car at your asking price, crashed it, picked up an 01, and you are moving the parts to the 01? Then for payment you get to keep all parts you take off the 01, along with the shell of the melange you sold?

So far I have 2 local buyers that are interested in the motor and another that is interested in the transmission and driveline for an AWD conversion so we'll see what happens but I will post progress of the work and bringing this car back to life, even though it will be for someone else.

I know this car from somewhere other than AZ...
Sucks to hear you sold your car just to have it wrecked 3 days later.
But on the other hand Nice to see that you are the one who brings her back from the dead!!
Good luck

So what's the answer on this.....a FT to Quattro conversion? I thought this was a no go.

I mean, you could install anything in anything, yet I've read this is not an option to do.

Correct. The tunnel for the driveshaft is not there on a FWD car. So, the chassis is actually different. (Probably B5 Passat)

Correct, the person who wants to do the conversion owns a B5 Passat.

The new car he purchased is actually a 2001 Silver AWD 1.8t manual. I am in the process of talking with APR to have the new ecu chipped for the stage III setup so I have a 2000 APR ecu that will be for sale. I also had to order 2 new wheels from iForged as well as a new front and rear bumper. The side skirts survived as well as the hood and trunk. I am having the passenger seat re-stitched and installing a new airbag from the 2001 car. This will be a project but I will keep you posted.

No, it was on a twisty road on a mountain and he had no where to go when the deer jumped in front of him. On a side note I get to keep the GT28r turbo and injectors as he has opted for the stage III+ upgrade since he has the 2001. They will be for sale shortly ;)

There are people on MotorGeek that have claimed to turn a FWD car to a AWD car with no modifications other than unbolting things from one and bolting them to the other. I was under the same understanding as you and a few people corrected me and said it can and has been done and one of the people claimed to have done this himself.

You must be referring to the B6 A4, because it is a bolt on setup with the later model.
