Looking at a '02 S8...

What, if any, are the common issues with this particular model? I currently have a '00 S4 and have become quite familiar with its gremlins and issues but that's the B5. Venturing into the D2 world is new territory, though. I'd love to have a S8 with that epic 4.2L engine in it but I'd just like to know what I'd getting into before getting too excited.

The cars themselves are pretty solid, but they do have normal Audi issues such as controls arms etc.

The biggest weak point is the auto trans.

Parts specific to the D2 are pretty expensive compared to their A6/A4 counterparts.

A S8 bi-turbo? I had no idea such a thing even existed. I thought they were all equipped with the 4.2, at least for the later models.
