I saw this on one of the VW forums; they started a page basically explaining what each program does and how to use it. So, if you can - post your knowledge about the software and anything else you can think of that would help us DIY people out...thanks in advance. Also, make any comments if you dont think someones info is right...

Lemmiwinks:
Ch01 : Idle Speed Offset
Adjust idle RPM level
- Higher number: increase idle rpm
- Lower number: decrease idle rpm

Ch02 : Fuel Tweak (Accel Pump); Increasing Loads
-This channel adjusts a fuel enrichment under load
-Modulates Throttle Response

Ch03 : Fuel Tweak (Accel Pump); Decreasing Loads
-This channel adjusts a fuel enrichment term coming off the gas or decelerating.

Ch04 : Start Up Fuel Enrich
Amount of fuel on any start ups?
- Higher number: enrich the mix
- Lower number: lean out the mix

Ch05 : Warm Up fuel Enrich
Amount of fuel on start ups E.G. on the first start in the morning?
- Higher number: enrich the mix
- Lower number: lean out the mix

Ch06 : Lambda Regulation
Controls how fast ECU adapts:
- Higher number: faster adaptation
- Lower number: slower adaptation

Ch07 : Additive Offset To Speed Limiter
Controls speed limiter in increments ok 1km/hr

Ch08 : Secondary Fuel Tweak
Controls fueling at idle, ussually alters additive fuel trims
- Higher number enrich the mix
- Lower number lean out the mix

Ch09 : Ignition Timing Offset
Controls timing in steps of 0.75 degrees, all RPM range is altered
- Higher number advances timing
- Lower number retards timing

Ch10 : Primary Fuel Tweak
Controls fueling on run, ussually change multiplicative fuel trims
- Higher number enrich the mix
- Lower number lean out the mix

Ch11 : Unused
Unused

Ch12 : SEL Scaling (Turbo Cars Only)
Adjust fueling maps according to boost settings
- Higher number increase injection period for higher boost
- Lower number decrease injection period for lower boost

Ch13 : OFF OFF
Unused

Ch14 : Idle Torque Additive Offset
Controls engine load at idle
- Higher numbers: spec load at idle is increased
- Lower numbers: spec load at idle is decreased

How to:
1. Place key in ignition, turn to on position.
2. Attach VagCom 'dongle'.
3. Bring up Lemmiwinks software
4. To store original ECU settings Click ON "Read". This reads your current settings.
5.Adjust settings at will.
6.Click on 'SET' to connect to the ECU and adapt settings.
7. When asked to cycle ECU, simply turn it off, then turn the ECU back on.
8. Enjoy (hopefully) new settings.

youll find very few b5 a4s run lemmi. A lot of the b5 s4s on aw do as well as the b6 a4s.

so what options are we left with? besides the expensive ross tech software.

What are you trying to use it for? These software should only be used to help the owner fine tune the setup he has.


I use the lemmiwinks, but only to make changes to my idle speed, startup fuel and timing.

hey mike did you decrease your start up fuel enrich?
im having little issue with my J31 and ko4, my afpr is set to 3.5bar and at top end sometimes I tend to hear pinging, but when i check block 032 my average for wot says -18% which is pretty rich, and the 031 at wot indicates 0.84-0.87V, should i increase my CH02: fule tweak(accel Pump), or what do you think shoud i adjust?

Yes I decreased my startup fuel because I was getting too much fuel and it was a bit harder to start the car. Once I lowered the startup fuel the car would start right away.


Well your block 032 is for part throttle only not WOT. THis means at part throttle your ecu is pulling out 18% of fuel to keep it in spec. Sounds like your problem at the top end might be just that you have either too much timing or the IAT's might be too high with that boost level. What heat range plug are you running? With the 31 I would run something that is 2 steps colder since it runs very high boost levels.

Do you have any logs of block 031 at the top end where you hear it ping? If its at .84 at that point your still good and it might just be the issue of the fuel burning too soon because of the high IAT's.

currently i'm running NGK BKR6e, i ran BKR7E but I killed them in like 2000 miles, I believe due to my running rich issue, is there a way to lower my part throttle a little or should i just leave it that way?

what is IAT?

IAT = Intake Air Temps

The J31 does push the K04 to its limits on air flow, so the temps will be pretty high.


Do you know what your idle fuel trim is on block 032? If it is also rich you can always try playing with the secondary fuel tweak (CH 08)

Another thing you might want to check is the knock sensor voltage on block 026. If it goes too high the ecu will pull timing. You can always remove some timing with the lemmiwinks (ch 09) but only a little at a time.

I havent used any program for anything. But there are a bunch of program defaults on my CPU that I would like to fiddle around with. Any cheap alternative to the ross tech software? if not, which package should I get from their site to do just minor adjustments, (i.e. windows, old vs. new DBW tranny adj., etc.)?

my idle fule trim fluctuates at about +/- 2% that never bothered me because it always looked pretty adequate and near 0%

Well then I would try to find out what is causing the ping at the top end. Since it doesn't seem to be lean, I would look at the knock sensor readings and go from there. Could just need a little timing off the top to keep it from doing it.

BTW when you run a higher octane fuel does it still ping at the top end?

rowdy- lemmi doesn't do any of the things you mentioned. only rosstech does. why don't you ask them directly what package you need

like I said the pinging is rare and if it happens it not really loud but sometimes it's there, you said that i could adjust the timing on the top to keep it from doing it, but if i do adjust Channel 09 wont that alter my entire RPM range?

I ran 104 octane with my J31R and it ran really smooth
