Hello, I have a early 99 AEB A4 Avant 1.8T Quattro.

I'm going to buy front Hawk HPS pads but I'm unsure which one my model needs...

HB269F.763 Disc Brake Pad; HPS Performance Street w/0.763 Thickness; Front;
HB269F.763B Disc Brake Pad; HPS w/0.763 Thickness; Large Round Wear Sensor; Front;
HB269F.763A Disc Brake Pad; HPS w/0.763 Thickness; Oval w/One Squared End Sensor; Front;

Which one do I need?

Does your car have brake pad wear sensors? Mine does, and I still use pads with no wear sensor. I just tied the 2 wires for the sensor together and I don't get a warning for it.

One less (electrical) thing to worry about. I can monitor the pad life myself.

Hmmmm good point. So u just took wires and tied them together? What did u cut/strip?

There are 2 ways to go about it:

1) Cut the connector on the stock harness for the brake pad wear sensor. There are 2 wires. All you need to do is loop them together.
2) Cut the connector from an old pad, so you can keep your stock harness intact (route I took). Same thing applies, where you just loop the two wires together and plug it into the harness.

The brake pad wear sensor is just a wire looped. When the pad wears down, it will eat through this wire in the pad basically just stopping the connection by separating the wire.
