When is the best time of year to score a good deal on tires?

is there a particular time where deals can be had? just trying to decide when to swap out a set.

If you're looking to purchase tires off of TireRack, there does not seem to be a particular time of year to find good deals. Your best bet would be to see what is currently on a closeout sale.

We have several mail in rebates in effect currently (http://www.tirerack.com/specialoffers/specialoffers.jsp?affiliate=EQ1), and normally expect another round in Mid Summer. Tires are discontinued (either in certain sizes or the whole model completely) off and on throughout the year, and do not occur with regular frequency (every Spring, for example).
