First time I called the dealer, I was told I need the vin and the radio serial number to get my radio unlock code. I found in my audi handbook the previous owner has the radio serial number so I thought this would save me the effort of having to pull the radio. Now I call the audi dealership and they're telling me I need to pay them $90 to get the radio code to unlock it, they say there is no other option because they want the car and the radio there as proof the radio wasn't stolen. I'm sorry but who the f wants to steal a 12 year old double din radio?

I'll buy an aftermarket radio before I give them a single penny just because of the inconvenience they've caused me, but hopefully someone here can help me instead? I've got my vin and the radio serial number. If it's so important i'll take a picture with my username to prove it's not stolen. [rolleyes]

I think I have enough details to make this work: http://www.ibiblio.org/tkan/audi/radios/symphony.html

Hopefully there's an option to enter a 0 when i get back to my car. (living in downtown SF means my garage is about 5 blocks away)

X2 it should be in the manual for radio, or else pull out radio and look on top of it for sticker with number, I've seen it 2 out of 2 times
