Just wondering how this exhaust is for the FWD 1.8T. Anyone with opinions please post. It would be combined with a 2.25 custom downpipe if I were to get it.....

I'm simply asking opinions on this exhaust system- how loud, performance, etc...

I'm looking at this route as well, would love to hear you guys opinions. I really don't want to fork over $800-900 for a Milltek or APR.

there are a few people on this forum with a custom Magnaflow, myself included.

sound quality is great, sounds very expensive and deep. it definitely is loud enough, but not annoying or intrusive. highly recommended!

(only complaint is during long highway drives, where all you want is a nice quiet ride...but that's not really what exhausts are for, now is it? =P)

i've had nothing but compliments. and in my personal opinion (along with all my friends), it sounds better than a borla which also sounds pretty good.

I just got a custom 2.5" Magnaflow system and am very pleased. Sounds great...I have never heard a Borla or other kit except for sound clips on the net, but this defintely sounds as good if not better. I ended up keeping the resonator on and it is not too loud at all. Interesting that there is that other topic now praising no resonator...

I to have a custom 2.5 with magnaflow muffler, and a labree dp, I think it sounds better then borlas and aprs, just my 02.

I had mine welded, and at 52and hr, plus 2 mufflers, it cost me around 600, but this was expensive, normal is like 300, the beginning of mine is really striaght too.

total, piping + 18" resonator and rear muffler, labor...was about 500. totally worth it.

I have a Supersprint muffler with custom 2.5" piping from the cat back. I ran back through the resonator, ao the exhaust is quiet as hell. The only time you'll hear my exhaust is when i'm at wot

I have a cat back (no dp yet though) 3 " with no resonator, love the sound and performance. Nice and throaty, not ricey at all.

Can't you get silencers for the long rides? I dunno, thats why i'm asking.

It seems like a lot of people are going custom. Custom pipes, with Labree dp, and (insert brand) muffler. Is this correct? What do the custom pipes run people?

Does anyone know if the magnaflow has better gains than others? I wonder how much less resticitve it is(if at all) from borla and the others.

Your not going to see any different "significant" gains out of any different muffler. Bigger piping is less restrctive allowing better flow, but too much flow could be a bad thing. Honsetly on the stock turbo, I wouldn't go any bigger than 2.5" piping back.

Different mufflers are just going to give you different tones, theres not much power gains to come out of muffler, or in a whole exhaust in that case, they are more of a must have mod to be able to handle more power i.e. bigger turbo.
