I know that using a ball seat nut on a cone seat wheel is not recommended because it doesn't make proper contact.
During my search for some 12x1.5 ball seat r13 nuts, a reputable company informed me: I have cone seat nuts which can work with ball seat style sockets **** it just doesn't work well the OTHER way around. (Cone socket and ball nut)
Is this true? If it's correct, it still doesn't make sense to me. What do you guys think?

I would not put cone seat lug lugs on ball seat wheels, or vice versa. You will not get a good amount of contact with either setup. Ball seat lugs for ball seat wheels, tapered seat lugs for tapered seat wheels.
There are washers though that can 'convert' one bolt/nut style to the other.

I had no idea...go figure. Kind of a head slap moment. :) I wonder if these would exist for the fellow hoping to run R12 lug nuts on OEM wheels?

+1 on what VMR said. Always use the correct style lugs! Not worth the risk of them backing out and loosing a wheel!

There might be some that exist like you're describing though!

What about using R12 ball seat nuts on an OEM wheel?

To my knowledge, R12 should work.

Little bit off topic, do any of you know what lugs should i use for Rotiform? cone or ball seat?
I looked at the wheels closely, it seems like it needs cone but people told me i should use ball.
I need to confirm since i am going to longer lugs and want to get the right ones.

You should contact Rotiform and double check. Wouldn't want the wrong lugs, otherwise your wheels could come off!

From my supplyer in norway I got cone lugs, but my mechanic is sure its ball seat lugs, and the inside felt realy round, so i went with ball seat- driven around 1000km now and all good, is it then a problem? tightened around 130nm with a torquewrench..
Edit: Read two seperate threads and both different answers... so wondering :D

Don't do it. OEM is R13 or 26mm ball. R12 is 2mm smaller diameter and makes poor contact on an OEM wheel.
