How many people replace the teflon sealing ring on injectors when you remove and replace an injector? Or if you buy used injectors out of the classifieds?
They are supposed to be replaced each time, but I have not ever done this. If you do this, what tool do you use and where do you buy the rings?

Yup. but has anybody found it necessary to replace them? I pulled all my injectors out when I did the carbon cleaning, and stuck them all back in without replacing the teflon sealing ring, and I didn't even put the metal retainers back in either. And the car runs awesome. No leaks, no issues. So, are new rings really necessary?

It's like a crush washer. It is good to replace but not always necessary.

I am leaning on replacing, but the f'ing tool is $240!!! WTF It would have been cheaper for me to just buy new ones in this case!

See the last post, I'm curious if it's really possible to replace the Teflon seal without the t10133 tool

I really don't know if you "have" to replace them. I pulled my stock injectors out 3-4 times now before I found out that you are supposed to do this, and my car runs great. ??

I never touched my injectors. For me if just wasn't worth the hassle or possible cost if I ended up having to replace them.

It is possible as I used a center punch with a taper and ever so slightly enlarged the teflon ring by sliding it up the tapered punch...

You must replace. They flatten out and compression from piston will cause blow by around injectors. You can buy the tool from Amazon for $38 and you must use tool. The ring stretches installing and then you compress it back using tool. ECS charges $149 for exact same tool and $40 for new seals that you can also get on Amazon for $19. They aren’t as bad as the dealers but they are also rip offs.

Plus the b7 plastic clips always break, so ya want new install kits anyway.
