View Full Version : Which spacers work with MIRO 111 wheels?

Hello all.

My new 19" MIRO 111's arrived late last week, installed some 235/35 front and back on my staggered setup (8.5"f, 9.5"b). I need wheel spacers to clear the front brakes on my 2004 4.2, and to push the wheels out. I will be doing the back too. But, MIRO in CA tell me that H&R spacers, and any other spacers that copy H&R [B]won't[B] work with their wheels!! Something to do with the bevel on the centre bore of the wheel!?
So what are you guys using with your MIRO wheels?? I want to enjoy my new wheels asap [:D] I was going to go with 10mm front and back, but with the front 'hubs' being 14.5mm high, I don't see how you can have a hub-centric spacer without a bevel (chamfer). Any input, ideas, makes or places to purchase would be great. Thanks.

Cheers

Paul

I used 20mm spacers from ECS Tuning to push my Miro's out. I have the 19"x9.5" on my allroad.

Wow! That looks great! I wonder if I should go 15mm on my wide body! I was thinking 10 or 12mm. Thanks for the info..

Bevel could be an issue.

I got H&R spacers for my August wheels and even though the wheel would bolt on the hub itself (rear, front would not bolt since it was interfering), it would not seat properly on the spacers which have more bevel than the wheel. It wasn't much, maybe 0.5mm max, but enough to prevent the wheel to mount straight, it would "wobble".

The spacers works with OEM wheels so I am sure it is aftermarket wheels crowd using small bevels which just barely clear audi hubs while H&R modeled their spacers to fit audi OEM wheels which have large bevels.

Since wheels are aluminum and I have a nice set of carbide router bits including 45 deg bevel... you already know what I ended doing. I just enlarged the bevel on the wheels enough for them to mount on the spacers properly.

Case closed and I can still use the best spacers out there which are H&R.

Thanks julex. Perhaps you could pop over to Arizona and do the same to my wheels [:D] What size spacer did you go with?

Well I pick up some 12mm Eibach Pro spacers (4 of) from a local guy tonight. They fit perfectly [:d] Although I think they make the wheels and tyres stick out a bit to much! I'll post some photos tomorrow. $120 for 4 and the longer lug bolts. [:D]

do you have sports suspension also? looks exactly like my car right now with the nice wheels. the bigger wheels make the wheel gap just appear enormous compared to the stockers don't they?

i'm trying to resist lowering my car cause i want it to be a smooth ride but we'll see.

Yes I have the sports package on my A6. There's no question, I'm going to lower the car [:)] I find to ride to soft for me. I'm not going to go crazy, but I want to loss a lot of that gap..

Looks good. There may be an issue with rubbing if you go lower though. If you do lower it you may find you need to change the spacers. How the clearance from everything with the spacers? Have room to get smaller spacers?

Thanks 'Nogaro Nitwit'. I'm pretty sure it would rub with the current spacers on there! I had some 3mm spacers on the front which was just enough to clear the brakes! I'm thinking I'll get these spacers machined down when I'm ready. It looks like I've got about 4/5mm's before the spacer 'bottoms out' on the hub on the car. So I will probably end up with a spacer somewhere around the 8mm mark. The back should require less reduction of the spacer.
I've just got to find which springs will drop my sports suspension by about an inch or so..
