Prepare for a vast amount of pic-whoring, but it's been a while :D

Removed my god-awful black plasti-dip from my wheels. NEVER AGAIN. It took literally 45mins to an hour PER F'ING WHEEL > WITH A PRESSURE WASHER!!! WTF. It was complete bullshit and owned my life. I will never recommend Plasti-dip to anyone ever in my life. F this stuff. /venting.

Stay tuned for final pics!

Using DAP brand 3.0 roof and blacktop sealer in black (thanks, Shane, for the tip).

Also used clear silicone around the exterior edges just in case. If this thing leaks at all, seriously FML.

Took out my failed hid fog set (DDM tuning). This is how it was wired up:

Now off to the shop tomorrow for help with my coilovers, an alignment, and a couple little other things.

What about the plastidip you didn't like? I have it on my split 5 spokes and really like it. Mind you they are strictly my winter rims...

They looked ok for my winter wheels. It was the removal that was terrible. I was told it would easily come off. I did not assume it would taken 2-3 hours to make my wheels look OEM again.

wildcat i just did mine a week or so ago and spent over 2 hours with a power washer + make my girlfriend scrub the other wheels!

I currently have 2 of 4 coils where I want them. The other 2 are not moving at all, even after I hit them with a full can of PB Blaster. In less than 12 hours it will be in the shop, so hopefully it'll be nicely leveled out. I was about 25" FTG last summer. Looking to be 24.5 FTG on the fronts at least now.

but yes, it does seem/look better than it was previously I feel.

f plastidip in the a so bad haha. That is why I currently do not have center caps on. Still trying to get it off of those.....argggh!!!

Eeek! I plan to test this out to color match my vent gauge... I hope I never have to take it off!

if you put it on wheels then i can see it being a pain yes, but in general, stuff comes right off. I had my s4 doorblades plasti-dipped, and when i sold em, it took me about 10 minutes to get it off all the blades. still love the stuff.

Thanks, brosif. I hope to also get my center caps back on once I figure out how to get the plastidip off those too. I think it'll look nicer at that point. Although I sort of like the wheels without the center caps - it does look sort of aggressive in a sense.

looks good man! [up] for another person running HOEN Endurance yellow fogs rather than dumbass HID fogs which completely eliminate the point of having fog lights!

question though....how can you do all this work, but you were questioning how to do an oil change?! [>_<]

ya, I have high hopes for the Hoen fogs.

it's weird. I just never have had any experience with actual engine or under-the-hood work. most of the stuff I have done is aesthetics so far I guess. I may be PMing you sooner than later for oil change info.

P.S. I finally located Harbor Freight Tools in Danvers - I saw the building from I95 while driving to the Celtics on Wednesday.

I took my car to East Coast European today in Greenland, NH. Great shop, great service. They helped fix my busted coil perch and get it lowered to the ride height that I wanted.

DDM kit stopped working - one of the ballasts is most likely bad. I put in a warranty claim, waiting to hear back from them.

You're the FIRST person I've ever seen on here with those rims. My Avant has them. I hated them at first, but they're growing on me. Maybe if my avant wasn't SUV status it would be better. Cleaning those wheels blows though. Such a pain!

Of course theres a twin avant that parks down the street from me, except its a Ti. DG with dark Ti wheels looks badass...

You have the same heatgun and gloves as me lol

It looks pretty good. I prefer silver wheels over the black color you had, it makes it look "clean"

You are pretty lucky if you removed the plasti-dip in 45 mins. Mine took a lot of adhesive remover, cursing, and days to remove mine. Idk how the previous owner applied it but damn it was a pain in the ass!

ha. thanks man.

I definitely thank you everyday in my head when I don't get bulb-out warnings anymore after your help with my resistors and bulbs! [cool]
