I am trying to find out what it takes to have a paint claim for your insurance. Do I have to go find a hail storm, or will they be fair with worse than average wear and tear? I am not trying to get a free paint job, I honestly feel the car deserves one to preserve it's value.
Honestly, up close the entire car looks terrible. The previous life of my car (0-74k) was driven daily on a dirt road. The entire car is chipped and sand blasted, there are four locations where paint is actually flaking. Both front fenders from my 245s when I first lowered it:

one fender where I fish hooked a motorcycle peg in the garage,

and where the rear bumper meets the fender.

This is pretty much the texture of most of the car:

You honestly could not paint only one part of the car and make it look good. You would have to paint the entire car.
Do you think I could get insurance to pay? Minus my $500 deductible, of course.
I just want to know honestly how to bring it up to State Farm as an actual claim, because of the terrible wear on the exterior, to maintain the value of the car, as opposed to them thinking I want to cheat my way into a free paint job.

Doesn't Audi have like a 10 year paint warranty or something? I don't think the insurance company will do much for you

I've heard, but the I highly doubt my situation would really fall under that category. Plus the fact I'm over 118k.

All insurance companies are different, so they best thing to do is give yours a call and explain your situation.
Unfortunately, most insurance companies aren't going to pay (minus your deductible) to have the entire car resprayed, in your case, for the hell of it.
You should go to a couple of body shops near you and get some quotes for a paint job.
Honestly, based on your pictures, it looks like you need a little spot repair and paint (No, I don't mean a touch up pen[:D]).
Aside from the paint flaking, you need a really good exterior detail because even with the flash, your paint looks very faded.

Not to say it isn't faded, but it isn't ibis white either. It's arctic white, which is a creamy off-white.

Well FMA, I just learned something new today. I thought it was Ibis.
Are you considering paying out of pocket for an entire respray?

That's just it. I'll never have a couple grand to ever throw at the appearance of my car at once. Ever. Unless divine intervention. Maybe.
If it's a legitimate claim, I will see what's up. $500 is much more feasible.
I would want to do a matte ibis with matte black roof.

I can't imagine your insurance would cover any of this....but if they did, I suspect your premium would increase significantly. $2k sounds very cheap for a complete respray, as well. We're talking hours and hours of work for a quality effort - my guess would actually be double that.

Maybe someone "accidentally" keys your entire car one night....insurance would cover that

a total repray of my car was going to cost 6.5k-7k with a two week turn around, but they were also going to make sure everything was in proper order in terms of the body fitting

I was thinking about trying to find a nail polish that matched pretty well.

You can get spray paint to match your paint code and then clear it. Probably a better alternative to nail polish.

This requires some skills (blending paint), otherwise you really will be paying to get your car resprayed
