That torx bolt should just come out after the nut is removed. check out this diy http://audi-diy.blogspot.com/2007/10/audi-a4-b5-r-your-power-steering-rack.html

I just did mine. Might have to turn the wheel VERY slightly if its not coming out.

Good luck. Its a major pain in the ass. I had to do the job twice because my 2nd rack leaked so i had to buy a brand new one. Make sure you get new crush washers if your replacing the rack.

I cant seem to get the torx bolt out of the steering column/shaft to seperate the rack away.It is almost stripped from me trying to take it out with a torx socket. Has anyone run into this problem?? Any suggestions thx!

With the nut off, have you tried using a punch from the other end? If its like the one in my A6, the shaft of the bolt, is misshaped so it doesnt rotate when wrenching on the nut.

no space can barely fit my hammer to give it a good punch
