So I been searching for a while now and haven't seen the answer for what I'm looking for. I noticed lately that my mileage on my a4 is kind of crappy 20mpg city driving, and around 24 highway. I have a test pip, front mount, real cold air intake, and APR 93OCT tune. I have a wideband and noticed in the last few days my air fuels seem kind of on the rich side. I don't have a VAG com so I can't log it but I see around 13-14 at part throttle and it goes as low as 10.3 at full throttle. Under normal highway driving say 70MPH at 3K RPMS it sits at around 14.3. Most of the RPM range under full throttle it sits at 11. Is this normal or what you really want? I always thought 12 at WOT was what you wanted. I called APR and asked them and they said that my A/F #’s where right. I can remember that my MPG with the 91OCT tune was a lot better like 25-30 in the city and upwards of 40 on the highway.

Oh, forgot to mention this is with a k03s. don't have the k04 on the car at the moment.

Af's seem good to me. Apr knows their shit. To tell them their tuning is wrong is kind of a slap in the face, doubting their abilities, which are very top knotch. Your low mpg is coming from something else.

I wasn't so much doubting there tuning abilities. I have seen it said over and over again that APR tunes are on the conservative and or safe side compared to other companies.

exactly. their tunes are slightly conservative in comparison. so why would you expect them to risk unsafe af's just for a couple extra hp? if youre lookng for an answer to high fuel consumption, look elsewhere. how you drive is a big one, coolant and engine temp, fuel filter, ect

Fuel filter is almost new, as are the coils, spark plugs. I have tried keeping it out of boost but with a k03 that’s almost impossible. My questions still stands on if the A/F's that APR tuned are overly conservative?

i would say 10.3 at wot is pretty good and 13-14 at part throttle is decent as well.

My APR flash runs right around 12.0 at wot 14.6-14.9 at cruise on the freeway, 10.3 is too rich.
