Has anyone ever tried these SS lines:

Also How much would you pay for the following? TT carriers, and A8 rotors/ everything else I would need to convert.. Sorry to beat the dead horse, but is it a direct swap for the early 2000 A8 rotors and TT carriers for the 98 quattro?

A8 rotors and TT carriers > stock S4 brakes all around given you have to use the s4 uprights?

which one is cheaper/ effective?

thanks guys[wrench]

I personally would not cheap out on brake lines. I am using Stop Tech and Goodridge lines (not sure which ones are on front or rear). As for going the cheaper route when doing the A8/TT upgrade, best thing to do is buy used. I picked up the rotors, pads, and carriers for $120 picked up. You more than likely won't find a deal like that, but you can still find good deals. (sending you a PM [;)])

As for the S4 setup, it isn't exactly plug and play. You need B5 S4 uprights, and I can't recall what is needed for the rears (too lazy to look it up).

To my knowledge, all years of the MkI TT used the same carriers, except maybe for the 3.2 cars. I picked up the carriers for my old a4 from MJM, that's the best price I found. Found the carriers I used on my avant on craigslist from a guy parting out a TT. You might also check the classifieds here, IIRC there was a guy selling them pretty cheap.

My buddies buy something similar by the bulk. They use it once at the races and throw them away. They are not DOT approved. It means the fittings are not crimped and that's where the failure will occur. I should add, they are basically good for one day of racing.
