Currently have 17s and i was just wondering what size will fit the best and also give me performance still? 18s or 19s?
Thanks

Lightweight 19s on dropped suspension or 18s with at least oem sport suspension.

oh you Californians and your wheels lol. I was thinking of going 16s this winter haha.. but i'd say 18 just because those tires are pricey and you'll probably have too harsh a ride with 19s

Based on the fact that your only two criteria are "fits the best" and "performance", the 18's are the obvious choice.

Its more of a personal preference.
Personally, I think 19's match the A4 much better. BUT - MANDITORY that you drop it FIRST. They look so freaking awkward with jacked up truck height and 19" rims.
Don't be like me, this is NOT a good look

Yeah I second the 18"ers. Cost, unpredictable Cali roads (pot holes!), and you have more versatility in suspension components depending on how you drive. Also if you want your shocks to last (basically any set up) you dont want to slam your ride too much. Unless you want to choose style over function, you'd be out of the designers range of functional use [;)]

19s for me. ignus is right about getting lower, but not too low IMO. The order should go:
1. Suspension
2. Wheels
3. BBK

Find a set of 19's under 23 lbs. You won't feel like your car is carrying any extra weight and 19's with a moderate drop fit the A4 size better IMO. My 225/35/19 tires were only $510 shipped with my rebate.

My order would be:
1) SHOCKS
2) stickiest widest TIRES you can afford
3) make an additional car payment

x2
and if your criteria really are best fit and performance...lighter weight 17"s would be the best. Perhaps a set of BBS RGR's with a set of extreme high performance summer tires. you will feel like you're driving a whole nother car...

So many new ppl
Don't get cheap
Ugly wheels, it's ok to get a good deal on wheels, but don't go to Firestone, or sears to
Select your wheels. I think they are hideous and only a
Select few actually look good.... But also use your own imagination, don't even bother looking at the VMR lineup, rs4 reps even some
Of the rotiform wheels are getting old.
Bassically if you have no imagination you will end
Up with a Audi that looks
Identical to every fucking B7 in this section. For some reason members tend to
Sit in a giant circle jerking each other off over how awesome their 25ftg and RS4 reps are.
Obviously you have no ability to think for yourself because you have posted a thread over a subject that's been covered repeatedly
Yeah I didn't have to click it... But bassically this thread tells
Me you will buy cheap ugly wheels or VMRs...
A wheel size doesn't give performance. A wheel weight and
Width do. Typically under 23lbs and 8.5" or wider on THIS site is considered a decent performing wheel..
If you plan on tracking, look into a wheel setup that is sub 20lbs and 9" front and 10" rear
Good luck

I can't get on with this Shane. Why oh why would you ever put that wide of rear wheels on our understeer prone car? We're talking performance here and more traction in the rear is the last thing we need.
