My brother is giving me his 17" mesh A3 wheels for free but I wanted the BBS LM 18" wheels on mine for $450. What do you guys think, take the A3 wheels and get good performance tires or spend a little more and get the BBS's?

Nothing beats free, especially if it gives you the money to get some nice summer tires.

What I meant by that was.. Buy the LM reps! They're beautiful. For that price you could have a really good looking wheel set up with some Conti DW's for under a grand.

That's exactly the setup I want to go for...lol. On Tirerack.com, they're going for $131 a pop. Plus, the seller for the bbs will drop it down to $420! So hard to decide.. =(

Do it.. I have the DW's and I love them. I'm going to try the DWS' next time just to get some more miles out of them. I have some very uneven tire wear though, the middle of the tire is wearing a lot faster than the outside edges. Bad alignment maybe?

Awesome tires otherwise.

tires are over filled with air....center of tire wears out faster with overinflation......outside wears faster with underinflation

I know how that works but that was not the case... If anything they've only ever been under inflated. I've never had more than 36PSI, usually 32ish when I check it every month. I have a slow leak in one tire from a nail. That's why I'm assuming it's some sort of alignment issue. I believe the proper psi is 36 for our cars.

I can't sell the A3 rims, he's giving it to me for free, he'd be pissed if he knew I sold it since he could of sold it and got the money...lol

It sounds like over inflation to me...What size of wheels do you have?

225/45/17. I agree it would sound like over inflation.. but like I said, the most I've ever had in was 36 PSI. I went for a couple months without checking and all four were at 24-26psi.
