Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone out there has any legal expertise. I'm looking to buy a used TT (2008-2009). I recently saw one listed at a dealership on the west coast w 19K miles for 21,518. So I emailed audi dealership them and asked for a price quote. An automated response e-mailed me the listed price. So I called first thing the next day to set up the deal. The sales person repeated that the price was 21,518. I asked if she could send a carfax and some pictures and then run my credit and help set up the shipping (I was pretty sure I'd be buying the vehicle as is). She said she would and would call me back shortly as the vehicle was still out for detailing. They had just taken it in over the weekend.

I get a second e-mail later in the day from the SALES DIRECTOR saying
"I have a few questions regarding the Audi TT you have requested prior to providing pricing and facilitating the delivery. I want to make sure I give you the right price on the right vehicle." "As a courtesy to you, I will be contacting you shortly with the information that you have requested."

I waited almost 5 hours later no call back.

So I contacted the sales person I spoke to earlier and she said the price they quoted me is what THEY (the dealer) paid the for car and the price they want to sell it for is 28,000. I asked why no one bothered to contact me and tell me that. she said, sorry they had been very busy.
So I called the sales director a couple times and there was no answer, so I left a voicemail asking him to call back. which he never did.

More from just a curiosity perspective. Would the price quote in anyway be binding and the reason they avoided contacting me again is because they want me to just forget the whole thing so they avoid any obligation?

Thanks
