View Full Version : A7 - 22x9 w/ 265/30/22 Falken FK452

For you guys looking mod... I just got my rims installed - They're 22x9 Concept One Executive RS-55's. As noted in the title, the tires are 265/30/22 Falken FK452; they don't rub AT ALL, and they provide good sidewall, so don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. They're a little noisier (as expected), but they provide a nice, steady and comfortable ride. The rims actually feel like they weigh about the same as the 20" OEM 10-spoke - As such, a performance degradation was barely noticeable, if at all.
Changed it up 04 Aug 12....

Eh... To each his own. What have you guys done to your A7s? Never mind, I'll be trading up for the S this summer anyhow. She'll be wearing a set of 22in "wheels" as well... I'll be sure to post pics!

Totally agree man! Can't please everyone! As long as you're happy.
Sorry, "rims" is pet peeve of mine. Can't escape it!
could you post the et offset for that rim in the 22x9. Did you run any spacers behind them as well?

edit: looks like the 22x9's are et32. so with 265s . I'd say no spacers required here?

Yes, wheel ET is +32… Spacers were added purely for aesthetics, although I’ve heard guys having issues w/ caliper clearance in the front of their A7s – Staggering kinda made me nervous w/ all the damaging the Quattro/Differential talk, thus I just went w/ a homogenous tire/wheel size and “staggered” it using Novus Tech 5mm spacers in the front and 10mm hubcentrics in the rear.

thats way more ofset than my s4 handles. so an effective 27 front, 22 rear all in. on 265s. I have some 20x9s et40s, so needing spacers for sure if I buy the S7.

Believe me guys… I don’t sweat the negative commentary – I LOVE my A7, but everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. I'm guessing there are a lot of folks out there w/ questions regarding mods to the A7; figured I’d assist w/ this post. I do know this… This automobile is exquisite, and it’s an absolute showstopper in traffic!
Thanks for all the positive repsonses!

I want(ed) an OEM Audi style in a 22" - Hartmann HRS6-204 or the HS5-209, but they're just not available in the 5x112. I'm keeping my eyes open and fingers crossed!

Love the A7!! ...but not the wheels... mayb a different style of wheel can make the difference and with a nice lil drop..

I love the A7...
I think 20" would have been good enough, however, if 22" is what you want, that's good for you. I agree with the post, once its 22, they are considered "RIMZ" lol.
Are you trying to accomplish the Mercedes AMG look here with the choice of wheels? I personally don't like the wheels, but I don't "hate it."
Everyone has different taste. I'm more into a classic OEM+ look. Below is 1 link + 3 photos.

Like others have mentioned. Whatever makes you happy at the end of the day. Your car without rims is a showstopper already.

Lower it and the 22s won't have the "donk" look if you will, not that I'm saying it's a donk but it's pushing it....coilovers...

don't really get the hate just because you put 22's on it. it's a big ass car, I think they look pretty appropriate for the size of the car, I do prefer them in the black finish.
think it looks great!
you could have said they were smaller and nobody would have noticed.
happy modding!

Hell yeah it's a big car (4150lbs)--I see tiny Lexus IS250s, Nissan Zs, Audi A/S5s, etc. w/ 20's all the time... 20's get swallowed up on the A7.

Car looks good with the 22 inch size rim. Its the style of wheels you have that dont match the highend look of the A7.
Vossen/ ADV.1 concave wheels or flatface HRE with deeper lip and a drop would give the car a more polished look.

Well, I think it looks amazing! Wheel choice—that’s highly subjective. The Euro spec S7 is equipped with optional 21” wheels; 1” is not much difference. Great job!

too big imo...distracts from the looks of the car.

I dont hate it, but somethings a miss. i think its the style of the wheels, more so than the size. 22" is a bit much, and 21" would probably be perfect.... Hell, ABT makes a 21" wheel just for the A7.
I think it looks better in black, but i would have gone glossier, instead of matte.... just my :2cents:
