Has anyone seen a heated oil catch tank for cold climate?

Negative. When the car is running, there is no way it can freeze. There should also be no problem if it does freeze when the engine is off, as long as the level of liquid never rises much above half volume.

No heated catch can, just make sure you are emptying it regularly.

Engine heat does this for you, unless you only ever drive 2 miles/trip with hours in between trips.

Props on the idea, though the oil vapor is quite hot, and I reckon the combination of the vapor heat and engine heat will melt the stuff before the coolant even gets hot enough to complete my train of thought

If you look in his last pic there is a plug at the very bottom, opposite of his level view tube thing.

Actually looks really well built [up]

well built....but you appear to have redesigned the mouse trap....the oil is plenty hot to keep from freezing with the car on, and if you are that worried about it freezing and messing up your stuff, just check it every once and a while

or be a badass and just let it permantly drain via a hose to the bottom of your car.....the hippies won't love ya.....but maybe thats a benefit?

Thanks for the replies! I'll try it and see if it works when it gets cold again[:)]

Bringing back and old thread, but I'm curious how this setup has worked for you?

It has worked perfectly but you still need to keep an eye on the level.
