so i did my brakes about 3 weeks ago. today my brake light comes on the screen. book says STOP. so i pulled over and looked at rotors. this is what i see. what did i do wrong putting them in? i tightened the 2 bolts on back side and lubed them up really good. any ideas?

could this possibly be because slide bolts on back side came loose?

they're just taper edge pads...

Brake light means either low fluid or an ABS fault.

well i thought possibly ABS but there is a ABS light. this literally says BRAKE, looked it up in book but that was about as far as i got since i was on my way to work. i did loose some fluid when pressing in calibers during change. and they were out very far. maybe i am low. i will have to check again. thanks Aragorn.

Chamfered pads. They're fine.

If your brake light is on, it's due (if all things are running correctly), to the wear sensors in the front pads. Did you replace your pads yourself? Did the front pads come with sensors? If yes, did you remember to plug them in?

If you bought front pads without sensors, you can twist the sensor wires together, light goes away. Just pay attention to your pads, because you just disabled the wear sensor.
