The first part of my project was the big turbo build; which I'm happy to report is finally up and running. There are a few kinks that I need to change up, i.e., test pipe/down pipe. But for the most part, it's done. Well, at least for the meantime, hehe. [;)]

Now, my second part focuses mainly on the body. I wanted to fix all the imperfections that occurred over the years of driving, i.e., rock chips, scratches, dents, etc. I also wanted to finish off my DTM conversion with the DTM rear and DTM CF front lip. Don't worry, I ordered the DTM rear with the quad-tip rear valence, so I'll be keeping those bad boys on. [cool]

So, here's a few teasers for now...

Are you planing to fill the rear reflectors? If not, you will need to tranfer the supports

That's awesome!! I'm glad to hear you went with the S4 DTM rear, and are keeping the quad tips.
I am very jealous of you fixing all of your little imperfections... I plan to do the same exact thing, after
I get my turbo in. I can't wait to see your B7 when you are done with the DTM conversion. The car is looking
nice and clean in that first pic [up]

P.S. When did you get your windows tinted??

It's actually a Chevy Express Explorer Limited SE. I would have loved that for long road trips.

I planned to transfer the rear deflectors as I had with the front.

Why is the hood masked off like that? (i.e. hard tape line)

I understand you are only in the priming stage, but why not just tape off up by the cowl and leave the entire hood unmasked?

You are going to come back through and sand the hood with 500-1000 grit, so any primer overspray will be taken care of when you prep for paint.

:edit: This is assuming you are doing the work yourself.

FYI: Not all DTM S4's had quad tip rear valence. The first rear cover I ordered came with a dual-tip rear valence and I had given the dealer the VIN to a DTM S4. Luckily, I had asked Pete (AKA: JeST) for his VIN when he was selling his DTM S4 and I had it saved in my PM box. Phew!

My windows have been tinted for years - 35% all-around. It just looks darker in that picture for some reason.

^ The 25 Quattro S4's came with dual tip. I believe all the "normal" DTM S4's had quad tip

It's being done at an autobody shop. I'm not sure why they covered the hood, but I do know they will be sanding it down once it's done with the primer.

So I probably gave them the VIN to a 25quattro the first time. Lol

Only if it has an old school CRT TV and VCR in the center console and captains chairs for the first row!

I'm a little late with these pictures since they were taken on Saturday, but I thought I'd share them anyways. The car should be done by tomorrow then it's off to get fitted for a custom exhaust set-up.

You and I went DTM last year around the same time and we knew there were people before us with the DTM kit. Luckily for us, there aren't too many DTM rears with quad-tip exhausts like mine and RS4 grille w/ the fog light conversion like yours within the Tri-State.

Btw, you can name 10 that did the DTM conversion since last year? Who are they?

Of course we knew there were people who had DTM before us, but VERY little who did the entire swap (Front, rear, side skirts). I can name 10 people overall who are going/gone DTM within the last year:

Me
You
Some dude driving around RT21 with 2 different sets of wheels on his car.
The dude in Staten Island who bought Marc DTM
3 Different cars AMS just finished, the car owners are not AZ members.
Possibly someone from NY that had a mishap yesterday with his car.
And I also think there are 2 other guys on AZ (i forget their names) who also converted last season. One of them was the guy who though he blew his motor because of the Vorsteiner Hood.
Also, the Red B7 from CT (forget his user name)
And finally the Red B7 with the KOR from Virginia ( Not so local but I think he said he will be attending NJ shows )

There are alot of locals doing it.

Realistically though, did you really think you'd be the only one with the DTM kit? Like you said, we weren't the first so we certainly won't be the last.

I personally don't mind if everyone converted to the DTM look. It's his or her prerogative.

Well outside of maybe of the L.A area, you are in the most populated area in the USA. Now if you were in say Idaho, and 10 other A4's converted to DTM, then I'd see where you were coming from. Well to be honest, I see where you are coming from anyway. I tried to find another route to go with my car, but really what other options do we have? There is the Deval (RS4 look) but stories of ill fitment scared me away. The LLtek RS4 kit, is too pricey. I thought longgggg and hard about being different and getting the Hofele B8 look kit, but it was wayyyyyyy too expensive. After that the rest of the body kits just don't seem as clean. So DTM it is.......... You need to move out west, and you won't have to worry about as many doppelganger's [;)]

i dont even see any other a4's let alone modded ones let alone dtm ones. well, other than draklores car but he moved away long ago.
