Tiptronic to manual swap. Anyone completed one on a B7 yet?

Picked up a wrecked 06 a4 2.0t tip. Looking to swap it to manual but havent seen any swaps on a b7 yet. Anyone know what all is needed to do it?

viziers did it, but he also did it at the same time as his FWD to AWD swap.

I read his thread but it looks like he was manual and just swapped in the quattro. I'm mainly wondering because I got this car for cheap, light wreck, clear title and I was going to pull apart my 6spd car to do a 2.7t swap but, if it's not a massive swap I can use this car and not have to rip apart my daily driver. I'm going to read PNB7's now to see what all he did for the trans part of his swap.

Hmmm, I could have swore viziers was an auto before, but I could be wrong. 2.7 swap would be rad. It would definitely be involved, but probably worth it. I'm sure I've seen it done on a B6 before - not sure about a B7.

I think I'll at least be the first 2.7t in an american b7. ABT did one already. Have a donor car for the 2.7, and now have a 2.0t tip that I can swap it into. PNB7 shows it as a straight forward swap and then de-pin and remove the auto trans wiring. Shouldn't be too hard to pull off and I think once I sell off the engine/trans from this car I'll basically have the rolling chassis for free so great candidate for the swap.

Starting a build thread for the swap. I'm pulling the 2.0t and the tip trans this weekend and will take lots of pics. Gotta tow the car to the body shop to make sure everything is all straight and then waiting on a bunch of euro RS4 oem body stuff I bought to make the trip over from germany and going to work on the swap to the 2.7 awhile...tons of fun in the next couple weeks.

I don't know anybody who has done it on the 2.0. I looked into it alot. I know the cost will be about 3-5k if you do not resell your parts. Probably about $1500 if you sell the auto tranny but keep in mind you have to get a new downpipe also since the tip tranny is massive compared to the manual. Just ask RAI

It's also going to a 2.7t, have to build/modify downpipes for the b7 chassis anyhow. Mainly worried about ending up with a ton of error messages on the display when I'm done. PNB7 looks to have done it with little issue so I'm feeling confident on it now.

I wish. I may do the Euro RS4 interior in the end, doing widebody because I have to replace all the front bolt on parts, driver front door and some other misc stuff. So far have the left rear door, euro rs front and rear bumpers (no reflectors), carbon/suede gallardo steering wheel, and still hunting. Just lost an auction for the complete carbon/ceramic brake setup (20K to get from oem plus but, ended up selling for around $7500 on ebay in germany.). I figure I'll hunt for deals on all the rs4 parts while I get the 2.7 up and running.

Here is the build thread I started. Will be taking some pics of the car this weekend when I start to pull the engine/trans. Hopefully all the parts start rolling in soon. Cayenne calipers and ML450 rotors should be here tomorrow and I can check the clearance under my step lip HRE 546r's [:)]

I assume this was never finished? Was looking into the tip to manual swap in case mine ever goes bad but keep finding dead ends.

There is a dude in the norcal regional forum that just did this on an s4.
