I wonder, who here has the most miles? and what issues have you run into, what big repairs, what failures...

have either of you guys done the carbon cleaning? I was just reading vandelizer's post in the carbon thread http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/298455-Carbon-Buildup/page5 and he's had serious valve problems at under 90k. I just hit 106k yesterday and haven't done the carbon cleaning....starting to get nervous.
Would the carbon cleaning suffice for what he experienced.....or do you need a valve job as preventative maintenance.
106k...nothing out of the ordinary so far.
just maintenance stuff...

No cleaning. Just seafoam treatment every 10K miles
I did boroscoped the valve ssince I have the tool at my work place and build up is really minor

117k here. Some of us local guys are sharing a boroscope, so we can get some comparison pics up soon. It is in the mail. If mine is bad, I will be attempting the cleaning myself this summer.

Lol, that is due the the incompetance of a shop and the over torqueing of bolts.... And who knows how much of the 40k its been running like that...

thanks for the info...
been thinking about the seafoam, mostly cuz I dread pulling the intake manifold off. But at over 106K without a single seafoam I'm thinking it's proabably a good idea to open her up and do it. Then I'll start the seafoam on an interval and that should be good to 200k.
