going to the dealer to get the 45k service done....i have a 2008 a4 since i bought it back in march 2011...i only been to the dealer once regarding a cel which they got rid of...im only going to make use of any warranty covered repairs or replacements...im pretty cool with my service advisor so im gonna talk him into hooking me up with some checks. its been a very smooth ride but i dont want to get worried when the warranty is over and all of a sudden shits about to hit the fan lol anyways i wanna get ready for the summer plus i just redone my new to me b6 avus wheels so make sure to check suspension etc.

any other suggestions to make them check ?

should i tell them to update the n80 pcv breather hose ?

Did you have a MIL light pertaining to PCV of they just replaced it anyway?

My dealer didn't need the CEL to replace my PCV stuff, but many dealers require it. I only bring my car to the dealer for warranty work (Free!!) and they recently replaced the Intake flap and the PCV. The Intake flap motor is now a mandatory service and the pcv should get done if you have an older revision. The n80 isn't a huge deal. I replaced mine and noticed no difference. It literally takes 10 minutes and you need two hose clamps and maybe some picks to pry the hose off each end of the n80.

DJsnowman, did you ask for them to inspect the Cam follower? Or are you on top of that?

I am actually about to hit 45k too. Im curious at how much I can actually get away with...

I don't mean to threadjack, but what do do you think I should asked to be checked? PCV, cam follower, coilpacks, intake flap motor.
Some dealerships ask for that 100 dollar diagnostic before checking that stuff.

No CEL or codes that I know of, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask when I go in for service/intake flap replacement
