Yeah I had the SL500 for a few years and a couple of Range Rovers to cover winter duty **** Can't work out how I can add photos from Iphoto library into this website so I posted to Fliker account **** Challenged in many ways including adding photos
Car is pretty stock but seriously well maintained - Previous owner was fanatical and was Dealer maintained regularly **** 6 disc changer in the front - Solar panel **** all the usual
Seem to have lost a blanking plate from the rear plastic bumper ( opposite side to the exhaust ) any idea where I could source a replacement ?? **** Its minor but my eye is immediately drawn to it

That's the little cover to remove when screwing in the supplied "towing" eye hook (in trunk tools). Cover part # is 4D0 807 441K 3FZ ...mine has a plastic tether line it hangs by when removed, which may come with the new one(?)
If it's missing the upper metal clamp (in hole...probably still there) that cover snaps into, that's 4D0 807 829.
This place (link) has the cover for $30 (cheapest I've seen)...don't know where else you'd find it...odd piece. It's $47 from ECS (dealer price) !!

PS...the "0" in the "4D0" (and all VW/Audi part # prefixes) is a zero..not a capital "o" ....that'll throw off a part search if you get that wrong.

Bad enough the $30 but $10 shipping for a plastic part this size **** Time to use the nail gun to secure it
Oh well I'm sure this will be the last of my S8 parts spending - Fnar Fnar

Speaking of securing things, Take out your fog light grilles and make a tether of some sort. Fasten it to the car somehow, make sure it isn't too long so if they pop out they don't drag on the road. Also put a couple stainless screws in the grille somewhere to fasten it to the bumper. They aren't cheap to replace.
