Well there's this 1998 Audi A8 for sale on CL in my town, with 88k miles on it, it's white with black leather. The car has a transmission problem, from what he says it still drives... here's what the guy says" I'm not sure maybe it doesnt have oil because when the car is cold works great, when it warms up it stays on one shift." The front bumper and a headlight was busted out so he fixed it when he bought it with a damaged title and if it's 5 years or older its a salvage title.

The question I have is what's the car worth, I'm still slightly interested in it, especially if the outside looks good and the inside, and the transmission problem is an easy fix. Could always be a good buy low and sell high car, or keep it and have a V8 to drive around LOL.

It's AWD, again it has a salvaged title, it had a front bumper and headlight replaced is all apparently, has 88k miles on it is all, and has a transmission problem, but he says the car runs fine, if he's driving it I'd think it still is good somewhat.

This is his ad "I am selling my 98audi a8 with 88.xxx .miles .car is in great condition, lots of new parts.nearly new tires ,very clean black interior ,working sunroof, only problem with the car is transmission is going bad .can move, but starts makeing noise when worms up that why so cheep ."

ive bought 4 d2 a8s to fix and sell with the tranny problem almost without a doubt the a-drum is gone. its a spendy job if your gonna take it in to get it done. costs me about 300 in parts and everything to get it back on the road. that being said ive never gotten a salvage title one so idk about that but i havent payed over 1800 for one. the least expensive one i bought was 600 and it was in decent shape with a cracked bumper, the most expensive i payed was 1800 and that one was perfect and had 86k so im guessing fair would be right around the same. play the tranny card hard because thats something people are really scared of with these. hope that helps.
