I have about 2,200 miles on my 2012 S4 and while driving the other day noticed a good amount of heat radiating from the drivers side. I had the car in dynamic with the S tonic in manual. I wasn't driving the car aggressively as I was in stop and go traffic. I had the windows down and noticed more heat than usual radiating up from underneath the car. Has anyone experienced this or a similar situation and if so, is it normal? Thanks in advance for any insight.

good point! But our car does run very hot! Hell if I could harness some of the heat from the engine I could heat my whole house for an hour or two when I get home from work every day!

I rarely see OIL temps in excess of 220 degrees on the S4 . My previous 335i normally ran between 240 t0 255 degrees.

Thanks for the comments guys. However, my question is why does the car seem to run hotter when I have the sport diff in dynamic and am manually shifting the DSG? Driving the car the same, it runs much hotter in manual mode than it does in auto. Any reason why? Thanks for the insight.

Probably 'cause your having way more fun with the dynamic setting and manual mode (but may not realize it...) [:D]

How do you monitor oil temps? Is this through the VAGCOM or another mod? Can you do it in real time? I've always been interested in knowing what comes up to temperature first: the radiator fluid or the oil temps (i'm assuming oil gets up to temp first...)
