Wow. I want those P40SC's in the brushed tinted clear pretty bad. Must resist.... Ironically, I just asked TAG for a quote on these in this finish yesterday.

How durable is the brushed finish? Are they going to end up shiny after they're cleaned a few times, or is the brushed finish under a clear coat?

The wheels are brushed, and then clear-coated. So, the brushed finish is pretty well protected. I also think that HRE uses a type of powdercoat for the clear which is more durable than a traditional clear-coat (I am not 100% sure on this, but I seem to remember seeing it somewhere).
I had a set of brushed iForged wheels that had a regular paint clear-coat and it was not all that durable. They stated it would last 4 years and it lasted less than half of that. However, that was some time ago and I know there have been some improvements in this area recently, and I also trust that HRE uses the best of the best....
A lot of it will have to do with what the wheels are exposed to. We don't have to worry about salt and chemicals on the road too much here, and I would only recommend cleaning the wheels by hand with normal car wash supplies (just like you would your paint). Wheel cleaners and stuff like that are big no-no for me.

That is correct. Our standard finishes are all powder coated. Powder coating is much more durable than painting.
All our Brushed and Brushed Tinted use a powder clear coat. You will not have issues with it and its very easy to keep clean. Simple soapy water.
Powder coating takes longer and is more costly, but it's worth it for a high quality finish that lasts.
Our street wheels are backed by 2 year finish warranty and a lifetime structural warranty. You can rest easy driving on a set of HRE Wheels.
